On Monday, Rhonda's husband Wayne
He had a stroke that's in his brain
The tractor that he had been on
He shut it off and text his son
And thankfully that his son knew
All the right things that he should do
The helicopter soon was there
Flew Wayne to Dallas to get care
There was no time for them to poke
A two hour span to catch the stroke
Immediately doctors got
Procedure started for blood clot
A couple setbacks he's been through
So he'll remain in I C U
And Rhonda's been there day and night
To make sure her husband's alright
Their Family is in great need
For all of them I',m here to plead
To FanStory friends everywhere
Please keep Rhonda and Wayne in prayer

In stanza one, the reference to the tractor is to show how relieved they were that while he was having a stroke, he was able to shut it off without falling off and getting hurt or worse while it was running.
Stanza three is telling that from the time a stroke happens until they get help is crucial. His son was on top of everything and his fast actions maybe saved Waynes life. Stanza four talks about his set backs and confusion of why he is there. Also they almost had to put him on life support. Stanza five obviously is asking for prayers for someone who has been a big part of FS since 2009. So please everyone, I ask that you lift Wayne, Rhonda and the entire family up in prayer, and keep praying until he is well again. |

-Sapphonic Triad Form, as created by FS member, ciliverde and named by Pantygynt. -A two line quotation, free verse but max total of sixteen syllables; must be concise and memorable, followed by a quatrain, four lines each of four syllables; finally an 8 4 6 syllable envoi that moves us on somewhere, like an aha moment. *Note: The quote requirements don't have to be exact. It can be shorter and still make a good point. If it is too long, take the best part of it to use. **You can add poetry or prose to the book. Choose the genre before you post. |

Friendship is a sheltering Tree.
Samuel - Taylor Coleridge.
Branches reach out,
Green foliage
Embrace us with
Much love and care
For all that, nothing is guaranteed
As life embrace
Us with its ups and downs.

I realise the picture is not of a John Deere tractor, which is green, but this one is blue and blue is Wayne's favorite color. You can't imagine how hard this poem was to write, but it needed written. There are many of you who have suffered loss, and for you my heart hurts. On Wednesday, part way through the day, I got a call from my step-son, Mike. He had received a text from his father saying, simply, help. He tried to call him, but Wayne was incoherent. He raced over there as I tried to make my way home with my 3-year-old daughter in tow. I made it there about the time the helicopter did. They gave me and Kylie a few minutes before they flew off with him. Within two and a half hours after the stroke, he was in a life saving procedure in Dallas. They were able to completely removed the blood clot from his carotid artery and suction other clots from his brain. The doctor declared the procedure successful and his prognosis good. The next morning, he took a turn for the worse and they were contemplating putting him on life support. Later in the day, he came fighting back, and by fighting, I mean swinging. Late morning today, two days out from the stroke, our pastor Glenn's widow came to see him. Glenn's loss had been a devastating blow to Wayne after just losing his mother a few months ago. She asked him what happened. So far, he's said very little at all that wasn't a repetitive call for help. He certainly didn't speak about what had happened. He would just say he was sick. But, to Stacy, he told the whole story, bit by bit, detail by detail up until he went in for surgery. One of those times I wished I had my phone out so I could record it for his two sons, one of which showed up a bit behind the other. He answered all that we've guessed about. This evening, barely more than 48 hours after the stroke, he's up walking, with help, and projected to be released from Intensive care onto a regular floor tomorrow. He's eating ice and taking crushed up meds in pudding. He still has ups and downs mentally, occasionally falling back into his repetitive calls for help, but is lucid most of the time. He can walk, talk and gripe. He's on the road to recovery. Praise the Lord and bless the prayer warriors out there. Many are asking what specific things to pray for: Continued healing, building up of strength, clarity and peace of mind. And help with his nicotine addiction that put him in this spot to begin with. God bless you and thank you for your prayers. They say you can recognize a Master's work because they make it look easy. Lord, you are the Master, because you took something that could have been a disaster and marked it with your signature ease. Also, a shout out to the Ap life360, because Mike and Brian (his other son) made Wayne download it two weeks ago. With it, they were able to track exactly where their dad was in the pasture and get to him in time!! |

I am acquainted with a man named Jim B. who is the organist at our church. He has a wonderful bass or baritone (I'm not sure which) voice, and he consented to have me sing with him at certain times from 2023 - 2024. I sang with him on my birthday, at Easter, and at Christmastime. He is currently in the hospital with cancer of the lymph nodes. He also has a bad heart, and chemotherapy could affect his heart. We pray for him and his family, his grandsons and granddaughters have ministries serving as altar boys and singing with him at Mass. I consider myself blessed by being allowed to sing with him and his granddaughters. I hope the angels are looking out for him, and that he is able to come back to play and sing. He gave me some good pointers on singing.

- Blue Iris Flowers represent hope and healing - HAIKU is a Japanese short unrhymed poem that uses imagistic language to express the essence of a deeply felt moment. It resonates on a deeper level, enlightening the reader and making an insightful connection. Most haiku in English consist of three unrhymed lines of seventeen or fewer syllables, though today's poets use a variety of line lengths and arrangements. Traditional Japanese haiku include a season word (kigo) that helps identify the season, and a break (kireji), usually a dash, that marks a pause. Haiku focus on experience captured in clear images. The most common technique is juxtaposing two images or ideas. click here to read haiku examples click here to read haiku rules click here to read why is 5/7/5 OR LESS rule click here for season words Thank you for reading and reviewing my poem. Oddly enough, those are the words spoken to me by the assistant to the doctor when I went for (yet another) medical procedure, and I found them more comforting than anything else said to me.
I hope this finds Wayne well on the road to recovery! God bless you both. |

NOTE. I haven't promoted this poem, so you don't need to review. The reason is I felt I needed to write it, but right now I don't have time to review myself.
Dear Rhonda & Wayne, When I say I've written this poem on the go, I don't mean it's not important to me. It's the way I do things. Even though we hardly know each other, I'd like to offer some comfort and prayers, because, after all, we all live on the same Earth and are human. As I told you before, life has a way of taking us by surprise. But we can always keep on going. You sound like a tough woman and things will get better. I wish you both the best. Please keep us posted. |

Praise be! The angels watched over Jim, and he is now at his home, fully dressed and able to walk. The chemotherapy worked, and he is planning to return slowly to his playing and singing at a monastery and then the church. He hopes to come back to our shrine on Christmas Eve. Our prayers were answered!
