Hi There,
This was an interesting take on what the soul is. I wish I had the answer to that question. There are so many interpretations of what it can be, but what I would like to know is: If we have a soul that we cannot see, can we really feel it? Oh dear, I feel a poem coming on. lol
A wonderful read.

I like your poem within the story, the soul, that mysterious gift. God's grace, his embrace, mysterious to us yet commonplace to God. And through that gift, we breathe his words. Not the same as scripture, but with the same sense of "when I write, I feel God's pleasure." Thank you for t his poem.

Darlene, thank you, I appreciate that you enjoyed the Soul defined as such...
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written definition and breakdown on the soul that is only a little spark within us that only needs to pleases God in spirit and truth. Our bodies are only the transportation to take the soul where it needs to go.

I've often wondered at the difference between the heart and the soul, (I'll have to google to get a perspective on it) Jeremiah speaks of the deceitful heart, so I'm afraid of my own heart. But I do know one thing, I yearn for that purity of heart, the childlikeness that Jesus speaks of, I want to be like Him. Well done, a wonderfully scribed entry in this contest, well done, blessings, Roy

Roy, the Soul, in my opinion, is as Pure as Snow, the essence of God in mankind. The heart, I believe holds this soul space and it is our minds the lower self that tarnishes the good that is on the heart.

Interesting opinion. One Christian course that teaches the soul is the device that controls the rest, the mind, the decision maker, the ponderer, that causes the submission to whatever you want to surrender to. I could go on for hours, but I don?t have the time, I did have an opinion, but I don?t really trust opinions, too much humanity in that. But bless you for explaining, Roy

Dear Mystery Writer,
What an unusual piece! I enjoyed this read. It was different and unique and certainly met the qualifications of defining the soul. The following line was my favorite of all (though the whole poem was special):
The Soul, the mysterious spark of God's breathing space
Thanks and good luck!

I agree the soul is mysterious and also elusive, always profound and leaves us with a feeling of either emptiness or fulfilment. The spark of magic that enters us. I enjoyed reading your interpretation here, luck with the contest, love Dolly x

Thus, my soul is unencumbered to write
these words God put on my heart, to
tell those who read this;
that in our Soul, all is right.
I love the whole poem which has good use of rhyme and anaphora. Best wishes in the contest, my friend. There are many good entries~Debbie
I can't believe this received no votes. It was among the best I read, my friend~Debbie

Hello Mystery Writer. You have aptly described our soul as part of our being. It is the part God gives to us that makes us who we are. It is a very good poem and I wish you well in the contest.
