Yes true. Who has time to think when in a conversation? I'd be apologizing all the time as my mind just goes into full mode talking. Something to ponder. Choose your words carefully. I think it takes a lot of practice and I live alone so won't get practice. Thanks.

What a great job you did with your twenty nine words! This flows very smoothly and makes a very good point about thinking about it twice. I hope you do well in the contest.

Hello mystery writer. He made a very good point with your 29 word story once the words come flowing from your mouth you can reach out there and try to grab them but you'll never put them back. Good luck in the contest.

Your story is an excellent contest entry and the picture perfectly illustrates it. You should do very well in the voting booth. I enjoy contests. I enter often but seldom win.

We seem to be on the same trajectory in these booths, however The challenges are most rewarding.

You have made excellent use of all twenty-nine words to convey a wise message. Once those words come charging out, you can't get them back.
You can apologize, but things may never be the same as before. :-)

I enjoyed your contest entry, Mystery Author. Your words offer some great advice to all. However, many do not do this and make a bad situation worse by opening their mouths and saying something inappropriate etc. Good job and best wishes. Jan

The best piece of advice that could be given to anyone... seems to be a lack of such control today! :) ;) Great job for the contest & best of luck to you at the polls! ;)

Your story is a valuable contribution in the contest with it's message of considered thought before speaking, well expressed in limited length. Possibly won't be seen as 'fun' though.

I can relate to this so well. I recently had a family situation like this. My middle brother had text my little brother some hateful text messages. He didn't stop there though. He proceeded to call him and continue to harrass him. My little brother has had some problems and my middle brother was being merciless toward him. My little brother called me crying explaining to me what my middle brother had done. I only saw red after that. I text my middle brother what I thought. I didn't stop there either. I called him and lit into him. I said some things to him that i shouldn't have said to him. I eventually cooled off and talked to him on the phone. i was sorry about what i said and asked him to forgive me. I told him that sometimes we say things when we're mad that we don't mean. He wasn't having it and wouldn't forgive me. When our words are released from our mouth, then, they're out there. Even though we may wish that we had not said them and that we could take them back, it's to late for that. I love the powerful and intense message conveyed in this well written work. Well done!

Jeffery thank you so much for your sharing. The most difficult tangles with wounding words are often in families. I hope peace and healing will reach you and your brothers.
