I really like this Rachelle. It sounds like you have good fortune in your family. You knew probably from the beginning that if you didn't do what you said and that it was found out that it wouldn't go well. Well, that Saxmon luck seems to still be going strong, huh! Yes, Saxman Luck came in a different form than my then-husband intended --it taught me early on that he was NOT the ideal mate for me!

No marriage will stand the test of time if money comes in between and valued more than the relationship. You were better off without him. So did he take all forty-seven million for himself as, after all, it was his birthday gift, right? Good story.

I think it's an interesting tale of expectations and disappointment, and how people deal with them, more than a tale of luck. You brought those elements in with tact, subtlety. In a short space, it gets that message across fine. You feel those tensions in there at the end. estory

At any rate, your story held my attention and was humorous to boot! Actually, I do feel a bit sorry for the birthday boy... Not much...but a little.

This is, as always, a funny and relatable story, enhanced by your wry sense of humor ("the woman wasn't exactly a shrinking violet, so no inconvenience there"). Even the font you use (which I've never thought to mention before) suggests that, while the story may be true, it needs to be read with a grain of salt. Thanks for a well-needed smile.
