What a great story. I really enjoyed reading this.
Just a couple of comments:
Her phrasing well was excellent, her fingering was perfect, and she controlled the tempo of the piece with panache and aplomb. - Is the 'well' meant to be there? And there is an extra space after 'tempo'.
Just as she reached the final page, though, Kate dashed in, breathless, eyes agape, - can eyes be 'agape'? I wouldn't have thought so but maybe they can.
Thanks so much for sharing these lovely stories with us.
Cheers

This is hilarious, Rachelle.
I love children's reactions and their ability to find magic everywhere.
And the puppy was a clever one. He knew his alphabet!
Thanks for sharing.

Well done. And funny. But the message of keeping our eyes open for everything - I like that. To notice even the slightest item that our kids see and enjoy. Raising our four boys I think at times I got too busy. Regrets. However, I'm trying to be more like that with g.kids.
Nice story

And that is the beauty of grandchildren! We have the time for them, something we sorely lacked as busy, harried parents!! Thanks for the terrific review, Gail. xo

That deserves six stars to take the time to mention dogs creative poop. That is a first and it may be the last time I have read that. Thanks for sharing this unique perspective from a very unexpected source.

Hi Rachelle, trust kids to see and express what the rest of us would not even think about. Wonderful little addition in your book. I liked it a lot. It made me laugh. All the best. Ulla:)))

Oh my goodness -- I am almost in tears from laughter here because I can just picture that little face... my middle child (about five or so) once came in and was seriously mortified that a bird had pooped on his little head while he had played under the tree where the bird feeder was! He just could not believe that the bird didn't like him that much! Thank you for that wonderful smile in your write and the knock on the door to my 'mom memories' that it provided! ;) ;) Take care! ;) Yvette

What an unusual way to distract from the lesson. Leave it to a child to notice such a thing as R-shaped dog poop. I thought the mother's reaction was fine. She didn't jump all over her daughter for interrupting the lesson, and she didn't discourage her excitement over her great "discovery." I doubt that the dog made anything of what he'd done. Cleverly told. judi

There is never a dull moment around your students, Rachelle. Who'd a thunk it ...doggy poo in letter R! As you've said though, artistry in unexpected places. :-)
I continue to enjoy these pieces. Keep it up!

Hi Rachelle, missed this as sometimes they double up on the messages.
Another fine chapter and I wish I had the balls to say "your writing is S--t"
but I could not do that to you lol, Good story line and I am glad nobody trod on it. Kind regards Colin

This was so funny Rachelle. Only children have that gift of making magic out of the strangest of things.
It is wonderful that mother didn't give a lecture, as mine would have about watching dogs and their business ha ha

This is my favorite thing about children: where their imaginations take them!
Thank you for the fun review. xo
