Very exciting chapter. Well written. Kept my interest from start to finish. Although I just jumped in, I could follow what was going on. Only one thing for your consideration,
...dangerous it is(insert comma)...

It's always been hard jumping into a book that's already in progress. Still, this scene seemed pretty clear. There is possibly one thing the detectives could have suggested and that's a restraining order. I could give better suggestions, but I'll have to go back and read the rest of it first. Anyhow, well done.

As you know I have been tardy toward reading this story. However, it is written well and I had no problem getting into the plot. Thanks again for another fine saga.

This chapter flows along very well with good dialog and logical questions, given the situation.

...important to my family?" (This sentence doesn't read like a question. Perhaps...can't you? at the end?)

Very good posting in an interesting story.

Thank you.

I first had a period after that sentence then a reviewer said it needed a question mark. I changed it. Now I just don't know, Maybe I'll flip a coin. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Hi there,

Another well written and engaging chapter. Those detectives are a suspicious bunch! lol

Shana asked, "I'm sure you see why these papers are important to my family." - if this is a question it should have a question mark at the end.

All the best
G

Oh my!! Of course it needs a question mark. I'm shocked no other reviewers caught it. Thank you.

Good job my friend, I like it very much. The police are of little help, leaving matters to Shana and Drew. Having Drew overhear Shana's explanation for leaving also neatly advances the story.

A very good chapter. Good dialogue and detailed encounter with the police. It is a shame someone has to get hurt before something is done to help someone.
As the reader, it is still hard to know who Shana should really trust, but that is why this is a mystery! Great chapter.

While the painting that is attempting to be recovered may not be a Rembrandt, it's obviously very important to Shana Kohlberg, and to some apparently very seedy characters as well.

"So bottom line is, unless they hurt me, you can't do anything, right?"

"I guess that sums it up." Campbell stood. "If there's nothing else, we'll be leaving."
... Yep, just like a detective. They won't do anything, hardly, unless someone is severely injured, beaten, or dead. In their defense, it's not entirely the cops fault. It is our justice system and the way it's structured that's to blame.

Ya know, Barbara, if I were Shana Kohlberg, I would go to a store that specializes in the sale of guns, purchase a 9mm Glock G43 pistol, take a handgun class, get my concealed weapons carry permit, and surround myself with two or three humongous, man-eating Rottweilers.
That would cool the bad guys "jets", so to speak.

Sorry I decided to pop in this late in your story, but I wanted to see just what you've been up to with your writing these days.
I certainly wasn't disappointed.
This sounds like a great story with an excellent plot.
Well done, and thanks for the entertainment.
