This story in a free verse poem is of a magical place and event that could almost be a dream. The ocean's merpeople sent a message of love to the narrator letting her know she was loved. She was given a precious gift pearl as a reminder of their appreciation of her care for them and the ocean. This is a beautiful story. Best wishes in the contest.

Lovely and I remember you telling me about your merman. I am so thrilled you showed everyone here this beautiful poem as I remember you sending it to me once before. And I love how you call him King Poseidon as he is like a protector of the ocean. So thank you for sharing this with all of us. Like I said, Beautiful!
Good luck in the contest. Love and hugs, Debi

Best wishes for your contest entry for free form. The illustration complimented your poem beautifully. I understand your poem for I am aged and infirm. I believe we came from the sea. If you are interested, look up The Selkie (a merman) He came from the sea in Scotland, took human form, fell in love and took his love back to his people. Well written my friend. K xx

-Beautiful artwork and nice presentation, Regina.
-You wrote a very good poem and told a good story.
-A very good opening verse gives the setting.
-Very good imagery describing how you
met the merman, with "sapphire scales."
-He sounds quite seductive, too, and
I can see why you were mesmerized.
-He senses you are a lover of the ocean
and will treat it with care.
-A very good closing verse as you
receive the pink pearl.
-Have you ever had it appraised?

This is so pretty. A merman of all the ideas. I kinda believe it myself. I saw something like that when I was in the Navy. It was swimming with the dolphins at the front of the ship. I honestly don't know what it was, but it wasn't a dolphin. Lovely poem.

Hi Regina,
I like this poem about this messenger from the deep. I shows that caring for nature can pay. The merman sounds like the most handsome male you can imagine. That pearl is a good reminder.
Good luck in the contest.
Keep writing and stay healthy
Hope you are having a great day.
Joan

What an excellent story in a poetic display of a goodwill story, I've read a few positively mystic ones today, but none about merpeople, so well dine, this is so well written and a great work. Beautifully written ,my friend, blessings and good luck, Regina, Roy

What an excellent poem of fantasy! I had to look up the word sexagenarian, I've never heard it used or never come across it! As the saying goes, 'you learn something new everyday!'
How you captured the dusty scenes is so enjoyable. Beautifully written, well done. Good luck with the contest!
Best Wishes
