That conversation sounds quite familiar. I used to try to carry on a talk with my brother who was schizophrenic, but it often trailed off into some fantasy of his.

Thank you Bill, It isn't easy to have a normal conversation but I'll talk to her as long as she needs to talk because it usually cheers her. She says I'm the only one who will talk. She remembers everything about her younger days.

This is fascinating and it is certainly consistent with someone's thoughts and occupations at a later stage in life. I'm glad you've decided not to part with your kitten on Caroline's advice! :)

LOL. I can see this unfolding. She is a mess. But like many I suspect today, always trying to find away to unwind. Good one, Beth. Nothing wrong.that I can see.

Thank you Ben, She is fun to talk to in spite of her unfiltered and somewhat paranoid and bossy nature. She makes me laugh.

I've really got a kick reading your conversation with Caroline. I'm sure she's a hand full to deal with, but isn't it great that she has someone who cares enough to take time for her. Thanks for sharing.

This is a fun conversation. You make the interaction believable. Being ninety-four, I'm sure Caroline has had a lot of interesting things happen to her. There have been a lot of changes in the past ninety-four years.
You sound very patient and caring.
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for an excellent review and comments. I didn't have to much to make it believable. That was pretty much how it went. She is a tirp.

I had an uncle who was born with a caul. He led a very good life, so it may be true that it's lucky. I love your conversation with Caroline. I have a neighbor like that.

I would imagine there are quite a few like her with no filter. She always makes me laugh.

I liked how you put the dialogue in place with such a homespun reality that it puts the reader there with her and can feel emotions, the mood, and the sense of someone who needs to be validated.

Well, you having a caul is not surprising, since you are such a rare and talented writer. I don't know where that noise come from, but I remember the three-party lines when people would listen in to your private calls. Thanks for letting us listen in to your conversation!

Thank you Jim. My cousin always claims she hears something and ahe is sure someone is trying to listen to her call. It may just be an excuse to hang up.

Nowadays, it's so different. Before, people were at least trying to be quiet while ease dropping. Now they broadcast their private conversations on their I-Phones for all to hear.

I enjoyed reading your story and I love your cousin. She is at the age where she is free to speak whatever comes to her mind. You had me laughing as I was reading, especially where you tell her she is always eating. Excellent dialog that holds the reader's interest.

I love this Beth, these conversations are fascinating, I know people like this dear cousin of yours, the conversation can be a little one sided. I have a plumber friend who pops in at the most inconvenient time twice a week, heh heh, well done, blessings Roy
