This is a wonderful tribute to August. It seems he was a wonderful person.
I don't know if I ever read his poems. Maybe I'll go to his portfolio and read some.
I can understand it taking a long time to write a poem like this.

Very touching. I don't know who the person is that you wrote this about, but you wrote it beautifully. I'm sure he was much loved by you to have thought out the words so carefully.
Just a thought in verse 4, a before wife fits more smoothly. It's fantastic just as it is.
What was the evil that took his life?

Thank you so much, Sandra, for this really lovely review, and for the golden sixth star!! August was a 'survivor' of the 911 bombing in the Twin Towers. He was badly hurt and had been in a lot of pain since that time. The evil doers have still been claiming lives since that day. I'm so pleased you enjoyed my tribute to him. I'm not sure of who August is. I'm sorry that we lost another person from the site though. I've already witnessed a couple, and it sucks to see people lost. This is the one community that I've done well with getting along with people, and it's not a crazy social media place like a lot of other places.

Sounds like you knew August and some of his personal life. I hope his family is doing okay.

He was a really nice person, and an excellent poet, David. Too young to have died, as I'm sure his wife and family are feeling. We have lost a few of our great authors on here these last two years, it's so sad. Thank you for reading my tribute, my friend. Warm hugs. Sandra xx

I feel bad because I don't quite know enough people on here still, but those I do meet I consider them friends. Everyone for the most part has been very kind and professional when they write. We're all in the same boat working to create.

Sometimes when I read your delightful audacious fiction I forget your talent as a poet. This sincere heartwarming tribute is a timely reminder.

I did not have the honor to know his work but by what I read about him, he must have been very special.
