This is an achingly beautiful reminder of a wise woman handing on that wisdom to a wilful daughter, her own person, but very much her mother's daughter. I can tell my father and your mother were of the same generation with the idioms of helpful advice used. I kept hearing my father's voice throughout your poem. Thanks you for the reminder of one who loved me dearly, as your mother loved you. xx

My Mum died when I was 15, so my father became 'the dynamic force in my life'. Weren't we lucky to have had their love and wisdom.
