Roy, this is exceptional in every way. It makes the heart pound in every stanza. As in all your poetry, this poem is very well written in every line.
Even an expert, which I'm not, would find it hard to criticize.

I really love this form of poetry and you write it very well. As usual, your faith in the holy spirit shines through and makes me yearn for the same. Thank you for sharing. :)

Roy, that is very good. I imagine a part of your history? Though I can't imagine kind you having foes.
I'm not familiar with the seven plagues, though I may have read about them in Sunday school, years ago.
Your rhyme and flowing meter, as always, carry the reader along, and in this poem, portrays how through God, the Shepherd, you have the strength to feel secure even though "foes stalk your peace."
Very moving,
Katharine

This is a powerful poem, clear and straightforward, and offers both comfort and assurance while at the same time focusing on the sacrificial death of Jesus. Thanks for posting.

Well done on this poem Roy. You're right, the enemy is always trying to steal out peace. He never rests, knowing that he's defeated, he tries to snare all the folks he can, or at least makes those who have called on the Lord try to doubt. Nice job.
Have a blessed day.

I liked this poem very much. It has such a delightful meter and the swapped lines fit so perfectly in each stanza. My favorite verse is this one:
My foes still try to stalk my peace,
but grace won't stall, nor can it cease.
Eternal love, can't fade or die,
to stalk my peace, my foes still try.
But grace won't stall, nor can it cease! Such wonderful truths you have framed in this great poem. Thank you for all of it. MM

Roy, This is a good swap quatrain. Your choice of swapping phrases accentuate the strength of your faith and how faith helps with braving life's challenges.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

Roy,
Christ's blood leaked out upon the sand,
though once I could not understand.
This is so true! There is a time in our lives when we do not understand or appreciate the sacrifice - but when we come to that full realization of what Christ did for us, there can be no repayment. Nice!
