You definitely missed your calling. You should have been a therapist or, at the very least, Ann Landers. Your advice is spot-on, as are your humor, i.e., the "Salon Code," and your use of metaphor ("diamonds ... strung together").
Just a few proofing corrections:
- In "They are why, in fact, that I'm still ...," lose "that.
- In the rat metaphor section, the word "poisoning" doesn't fit, as you haven't said anything a bout a rat biting. How about "After the initial discovery ...?"
- In point 6, leave a space after "deliberately or not."
Outside of those few points, these are words to live by that everyone should remember.

My pleasure, as always.

That is amazing advice, and I agree with them all. The final one truly is the clincher. Why would anyone want something that is so awful for themselves wished on for their children? A loving parent would say they wouldn't. You are a very wise lady, my friend. :) Sandra xx

This was exceptional in every way, but more importantly, it has an exceptional message for those embarking on relationships the world over. There is no user manual, no money back guarantee and certainly no mentor who can direct a person who may be in a bad relationship and may not know it. You have written something of great value, written it so well it's enjoyable to read, and you oughta be congratulated. Kudos!

I really enjoyed reading this wise post, Rachelle.
Even if you have a wonderful house and wonderful shoes..., if you don't have love, you don't have much.
There's a little typo: wonders of she's suffering from the Seven-Year Itch (if).
Thanks for sharing.

Thank you, Maria, for the affirming review and for the editorial catch, as well. I appreciate your having my back. I'll get that fixed at once. xo

Okay, we know you play the piano, but you are obviously also a marriage counselor. You have a huge trunk load of advice here and you are so nice to share it in your story. I don't see a contest here, but you should enter this story in one.

Sandra, I think it's just my Jewish Mommie thing of always wanting to point out life's flaws.
Thanks for this really encouraging review. I appreciate it very much. xo

Have you ever thought of being a marriage councilor, or a pre-marriage councilor? I feel pre counseling is so important as too many people have no idea what they are getting into and I think more and more, have no idea what love is. Well done, great advise, well written.

I'm a Jewish Mommie, Roxanna; this is my only qualification for advice-giving...and then it's on a Whether You Want To Hear It Or Not basis. I'd be out of business in a week if I were a marriage counselor. But thank you for the lovely compliment. You made my day.
I agree whole-heartedly with your comments, too, about people having no concept of what they're getting into with matrimony -or living together arrangements. Very worrisome, indeed.
