I believe in miracles and thank the Lord for every one of them, especially for you and Wayne. I sit her crying, straining to read every word, but so very happy for the outcome. It also brought memories of how many times prayers brought Mike back after the doctors told me there was no hope. I am thrilled that the Lord's blessing touched your family and I pray that they will continue to do so.
Sending my love and prayers for better tomorrows filled with strength and determination for each day.
Smiles and hugs, Carol

    Hi Carol,
This is days late in response, but I read it earlier. I just lacked the time to go through and answer. Thank you for your support and sharing about your own experiences with prayers and their being answered. You made a good point about it happening over and over. Eventually, though, it's time to go home, and I get that. I'm thankful for the time I've had with him.
    Hugs,
    Rhonda

You told Wayne's story beautifully, Rhonda. I wonder what it was after the CT scan that him come to life, you might say. Something in his brain must have clicked, and he reacted. Then your son took a good punch from his father. He must have been shocked. I love how you describe his screaming and thrashing being beautiful. I agree about it being a miracle. A very good concluding verse about the power of prayer and friendship. I am glad the poems were also meaningful to you. I am glad to hear he is coming home. It is great news!!

    Hi Pam,
Sorry this is so late being replied to, though I read it right away. I just wasn't in a good spot to sit down and respond the way I wanted. Wayne's doctor explained yesterday why the laying flat was a trigger. Because of Wayne smoking, he had horrible COPD, and laying flat made him feel like he was smothering. It was that that triggered him to start fighting. It was a sort of muscle memory reaction, but it stimulated his brain to start firing.

Mike wasn't the least surprised, or offended, that his dad punched him. They are both country boys and dirt track drivers. A fighting spirit goes along with the territory, lol.

On another note, never did Wayne act aggressively towards me. He'd try and talk me into letting him get up, but never pushy or punchy.

    Thanks again,
    Rhonda

Thank you for commenting on the literature part as well.

No need to apologize, Rhonda. You have been through a lot. I'm glad to see you on FS. Thanks for sharing about Wayne. I imagine your son understood the situation and that's why he responded the way he did. Wayne was probably on pain medication, and that can trigger weird behavior. I'm glad Wayne was fine with you. You are welcome for the comments.

It must have been upsetting to see your husband so frantic and panicked like this Rhonda, but as you say, it showed he had feelings in his limbs and that he had the fight in him to live. I am so happy that he has been able to fight back to near normal health Rhonda, your faith and hope pulled through here and I am so happy to hear your uplifting news, love Dolly x x x

    Hi Dolly,
You are such a precious lady and I appreciate you joining in the reviews!!
It was definitely a mixed emotions event. I was glad to see him fighting, but was upset to see he was panicking. It was a beginning, and sparked the fight he's had to regain his life. He does everything they ask as far as the therapies they have him in. Good attitude and fortitude from wherever he got it has been key. That, and deep faith.

    Big hugs,
    Rhonda

Oh Rhonda, I'm so very, very happy for you both and your son, I'm sure he didn't mind being punched in the ribs! LOL. I can just see you laughing and crying at the same time, and it didn't register with me that it was because he was physically, emotionally fighting back with a vengeance! It truly was a miracle! God was there and answered all the prayers that must have been coming head on!! I'm really happy for you, my dear friend. Love you lots. Sandra xx

    Hi Sandra,
Thank you for the six stars and for the lovely review.
I guarantee you Mike didn't care that his dad punched him. All he kept telling him was he was sorry he dropped him when he pulled him out of the tractor. Though, on all accounts, it was more Wayne fell on his and knocked them both to the ground.
Yes, the laughing and crying bordered on hysteria, but it felt so good to see and hear him fighting that it was hard to get mad at the situation. Still, in ICU, they take exception to having their expensive machinery poorly treated. That and it took a while to get another IV in him as he messed up both they had in him and his veins in the process.
All things said and done, he's glad to be home and is resting very well right now. I need to be meaner and wake him up to make him take his meds.
    Big hugs,
    Rhonda

    Hi sweet Debi,
You are so precious. Not only did you bless me with six stars, but a warm comment as well.
I feel your tears and prayers, my friend. I will tell you I'm praying for you as well. Somehow, in the midst of your own difficulties, you find a way to lift up other people. I know, now, just how much God cares and how he hears our prayers.
    Much love,
    Rhonda

Oh Rhonda! Praise the Lord for answering our prayers for Wayne! But what a way to literally "fight back"! I think when anything tampers with the brain, the patient comes out with balled fists. My dad did the same when he had a subdural hematoma. Thank you for giving us this well written update! Please get enough sleep!

    Hi Helen,
Dear friend, thank you so much for the six stars, and for the hours of prayers I know you've sent up personally and as a part of a group of believers. They were felt and they were heard by the One who could step in with a miracle. Never have I watched a miracle of this degree unfold before my eyes. What a testimony he will have!!

Thanks for sharing about your father and how he came out fighting as well. It may be a head/brain thing, but it has its own level of beauty to see what fight looks like.
    Hugs,
    Rhonda
