It is good you are writing an epilogue. We are learning some things we didn't know before. Thomas Maples is a character we've not met before. I wonder what the interaction between the pastor and him might have meant and if it is part of the epilogue that will be explained. It is good know the story isn't quite finished.

Yes, the epilogue seemed needed. I suppose it could have been a part of the play-proper, but this way seemed just right. Now, as usual, I can't shut off the ignition.

Fantastic, Jay! It seems there are a few things Fanny didn't reveal to Robert. Her buying Thurston Flourney's marker is interesting all by itself. Loved it, Jay. Best JohnC.

Thank you, John. And especially ... a huge thank you for sticking with this from the beginning, though you don't usually read scripts.

Hi Jay,

Good stuff here once again. to get closure from the tale through the reporter's eyes is a nice device. I'll be sad when this rounds out.

All good, carry on

Thank you, G, for the kind words and the six! I hope the Reporter's direct conversation with the audience wasn't too "shocking".

I love that the opening is almost meta, as much about your experience writing this as the reporter. Then we delve more into his character and third party understandings of what's been happening. Loved it!

What a happy sight to read your comments. Yes ... about the meta, that was why I had him apologize to Maples for getting too philosophical. I realized I was tiptoeing on the edge of author intrusion.

I loved this! Miss Fanny and Juniper were a surprising couple. Now, Mr Maples mentioned Miss Fanny and Juniper were sisters???? I'll have to wait to read about that as it was quickly passed over. It might have been a slip of the tongue, but....
All that money, that was a huge amount for those days, and I had to smile at the 'dime' Lol. Those accounts truly were well documented. The Paster Rabbins is obviously not liked, I'm betting he was one person who didn't like Miss Fanny. The reporter is learning so much more since her death. I'm really looking forward to the next two parts. You've done an amazing job with this script, Jay, I'll miss Fanny when it's over. Well done again! :)) Sandra xx

I may regret that "sisters" line. It was more meant to reflect the times and that Maples didn't want to accept that they were partners. But it may have inadvertently opened up an unintended red herring. Thank you so much for following this and for the lovely six stars. About the amount of money that was according to the inflation tables' estimate, it was over half a million dollars.

Well she may have been physically absent from the stage, but her presence was felt from the first view of the hole to the last word. She'll outlive us all yet. Brilliantly done.

Thank you, thank you, thank you! Kate, I want to say, "Why didn't you tell me? But dang git! your play told me. Then I heard it from Helen. You are actually in the hospital with a spider spawning in you? My fear from the critical standpoint was that the premise might be a tad fantastic for a fictional play ... till Helen set us all straight that it actually happened. Now ... please tell me you're going to be all right! Give me something to cling to!

I just posted 'The Reveal' (nothing to do with this problem, but it should reassure you I am still partially functioning - as this review should have done). I am not answering questions directly as it would spoil the play... you'll just have to be satisfied with the odd sign of life. Sorry to be mean. Kate xx
