A beautifully written and crafted rondeau dear Melissa, your writing has become very strong in recent times, and this is proof of that very fact. An excellent theme, deftly crafted and rhymed, which is the trick to keep on course. Beautifully written My friend, blessings Roy

    Roy, your lovely review is so encouraging to me. I am very glad you liked this rondeau about the snow. I hope to be sitting in that chair tomorrow afternoon when it is supposed to come down here in central Virginia... perhaps, as I watch it, I will pen another Rondeau. :). Thanks so much, my friend.

Hello Sugarray77, your poem is filled with vivid imagery. It reads and flows well and has silky rhyming within.

I especially liked:
Soft twilight dims earth's subtle glare;
reminding me to be aware
that time is flitting by.. alas,
aged sand sifts through my hourglass;
each moment is unique and rare...
as snow drifts down.

(Soulful and the essence of this poem.)

A pleasure to read. Keep the blue waters flowing. LateBloomer

    I'm in NJ. I think we're getting the same storm. Margaret - LateBloomer

Your poem is so beautiful, great rhyming, and a joy to read. Great description of the falling snow, and how it brings back memories of our youth. I love your closing lines: "each moment is unique and rare...
as snow drifts down."

    You are welcome. I just saw a news story of an accident on I-95 in Virginia, with cars stranded in the storm for hours. Hope it was not near you.

    Hello Anne... yes, it was near me and thank the Lord we did not go anywhere today. We have been hearing all sorts of stories ~ it was backed up for over 55 miles. The snow we had yesterday was a big part of the problem. Thanks for checking on me!!

    I trust no one was fatally injured.

Beautiful Rondeau about snow. The rhymes do not seem forced. Your poem flows well. It draws on emotions and it presents strong images.

Great rondeau telling about your childhood memories. If only we could relive those days. We've no snow yet, had a few flurries. It's 28 degrees, chill factor 17, and damp. Love it!

    Haha, I know you will get some at some point... my sister in Rogers said they are having a full blown snow storm, maybe some will come down to central Arkansas. Thank you for your review.

    I've been expecting to be slammed like we were last year. Thankfully, I'm well stocked up. Last year, no one could get out at all.

The winter months make us pause and take stock as we can no longer go rushing about, dig our gardens and stay out late. Here you ponder life whilst watching the snow falling and you created a magical moment here, a fine poetic Rondeau, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

    Thank you very much, Dolly. I know that you get more than your share, but we seldom get snow, so it is magical to me. I appreciate your wonderful review.

This is a really good seasonal poem. We are still waiting for first real snowstorm this winter. Our area of the world, here in Maine, has been warming up over the past twenty or thirty years.

    Hello Paul. Hopefully, you will get some snow... we are forecasted to get 2-5 inches tomorrow, and that is seldom seen here in central Virginia. Thank you for your great review.

I love this. It made me long to look out of the window and see snow falling but even up here and with darkness fallen the temperature is 11° so there is little chance of that.

    Thank you, Jim. I am so glad you enjoyed this rondeau. We are supposed to get between 2-5 inches in the next 24 hours. Sure hope the weatherman is right... it seldom snows here. I remembered your teaching about using the first four syllables as a refrain, and seems to work very well in this form.

I've never written this poetry form, but I like it very much. I do love winter for the most part, at least the falling snow aspect of it. However, the icy roads bit I can do without. I like your artwork, too. Well done.

    Hello Mary. Thank you for your lovely comments. We don't get too much snow here in central Virginia, so it is still charming to me :)

This is a lovely rondeau, Melissa, beautifully penned and presented as well. I love the uneven edges and snowflake effect. Sending you my best today as always and blessings for the new year. I hope you are feeling better, too!
