Touching tribute in gentle humor. This book is a wonderful idea--I've already seen Ralf's and Bill Shott's contributions. Great piece!

Thank you for this wonderful tribute to Bob. I did follow his works in the past but hadn't been in the last years so I didn't know until I saw Bill's post. Yes, he was a great writer and he's got new assignments in Heaven.

Hi Robyn, OMG this is the first I heard about Bob's passing...I just answered a post on him having two toes removed because of his diabetes...
he will truly be missed sweet girl...he was loved by many...
he was an awesome writer...I had bought a few of his
stories/books...a true loss to our FanStory family...
my heart goes out to his family and his friends...
he has now gone home...he is now resting in peace...
God Bless Him...this is so sad...
Thank You for posting and letting us know sweet one...
love you...Linda xxoo

Is there a better word than "nits"? I like the second stanza best. This is a very good piece that pays tribute to someone who meant a lot to you. The last three lines are a little confusing to me.
This rating does not count towards story rating or author rank.
The highest and the lowest rating are not included in calculations.

Paul, I think we need to have a talk. *smile* I realize you are still new here, so I went to check on your other reviews and I found pretty much the same thing. You have a tendency to be a bit condescending in your comments. There's something you should know right away about FS. It's far more than a writing site where you get to tell people what you think about their writing. It will soon become a family. There are real live people behind those posts that you are reading. They have personalities and feelings and they CARE about what you say.
It's absolutely fine for you to be honest with your reviews - welcome even. But it's better to temper your words with kindness and to remember that if you are going to visit some unkind remarks, it's also good to offer some worthwhile things, too. What you DID like. And not just as throw-away lines, but as if you mean them. Does that make sense?
I often noted in your reviews that you have commented on content. That is not under your purview. You may comment on structure, punctuation, meter, etc. What folks write ABOUT is not up to you - that is up to THEM. You may comment about it - but not negatively. For example - let's say you post that you are an avid Trump fan. Would you think it's okay for those who disagree to give you a 1 star even though your piece is written perfectly fine?
Now, in the case of this poem - 'nits' = 'spags' = mistakes in writing. I'm not sure of any other word that would work and don't care to find another.
In the last bit of the poem, you aren't meant to understand since you didn't know the guy (whose pen name was 'Mastery') and therefore probably would find it confusing.
Thanks for reviewing - I ALWAYS, ALWAYS appreciate honest reviews. Have a super week. (Really.)

I was so sorry to hear we had lost him. He was so kind to me after I lost my son. He had a lot of wise things to tell me, and I will never forget that. I know he is happy to see his son again.

I didn't know Bob, but I wish I had, and you obviously did. This is a lovely tribute to someone who seems to have been rich in talent and sensitivity and loyalty.
This was a moving gesture on your part.

-A very nice tribute, Robyn.
-Nice artwork and presentation.
-I think Mastery would
be very pleased.
-Many good examples
of his writing and style,
and ending with a
very good conclusion.
-I didn't know him well
enough to contribute,
but I'm sure the book
will be appreciated.

Bob died? Oh man, that's sad. He was a very nice man. It's a beautiful poem in his honor, he would like it. Thank you for sharing.

"And so, you see... I'd never call it flattery
to remember him as
Mastery."
Thank you for sharing this tribute to someone you admire. Must have been someone before I came on here, but sounds like he was a help to others.

I did not know he passed! RIP. This is a touching tribute, dear friend. It's witty, too, which is a perfect harmonic note to strike.
Fun rhymes, prose and arose. Gaze and ways--great slant rhyme, too! Very inventive. He would have liked this.
This made me chuckle:
a master at growling
and, sometimes, at barks.
*one edit, ironically here:
A master befriender,(NO COMMA)
and editor, too.
Nice closing rhyme as well:
And so, you see... I'd never call it flattery
to remember him as
Mastery.
Well done.
RIP.
Hugs,
