I hope you know I would award this chapter a six star rating if I had one. You are a superlative writer. This chapter deserves a six for all the research that went into your details. Although I enjoy the Cotswalls more, this place seems so exotic. The scenery itself is exciting. I am still dizzy from all the hairpin turns and hungry knowing that they are going to be without food for awhile.
Until next chapter.

I'm way behind with my responses to reviews, Debbie. Various family crises are invading my FS time!
I very much appreciate your supportive comments and continued interest in my tale.
Best wishes, Tony

You did a great job describing the narrow road. I enjoyed reading. I can't wait to see what the snow storm they're heading into will bring. They are a fun couple. I am still a little anxious about Helen.

It's getting rather exciting Tony. The name of the boat by which we sailed from Tilbury docks in England, migrating from the UK to Australia in 1951, was called the "Chitral" an old troop ship. You've really become an accomplished writer in novels Tony, well done. You've either been to Pakistan, or your research is really good. Well done, great scribing, blessings, Roy

Thanks for your review and comments, Roy. Interesting that your ship was called the Chitral. I suppose that the connection would have been the importance of the town in the days of the British Raj.

Hi Tony, I have run out of sixes, and I do regret that, because this chapter so deserves one. Your story is just very intriguing. The ending of this chapter is ominous.
'throwing off its mantle of sleep': I love it.
All best. Ulla:))

A very well-written chapter and another adventure with strange happenings in the way but still safe and on track to the final destination.

It's a relief they are on their way through the tunnel before the brunt of the storm hits. I loved the interlude of them playing in the rain and snow puddles as it provided a great break from the heightened tension of the journey to that point. Well done and thank you very much for sharing it.

Thanks, Monica. Appreciated. I particularly value the comment about contrast. I?m never quite sure how well the play between Charles and Helen is working.

Your well-described depictions of a foreign land and culture add to the thrill of the story line. Even coming in late to the plot, one feels anxiety and a familiarity with Helen and Charles. Enough teasers are dropped to capture interest in further reading. Wonderfully written... ...ec

I enjoyed reading this chapter in your book about the ongoing adventure into a very dangerous part of the world that appears to be very isolated then probably under the control of a terrorist. I like how you describe the scenery and travel with very descriptive words. It will be interesting to see if they get out of this alive.

Well done - this reads very smoothly - I can see those hairpin turns and feel the fear as the rear wheels slide toward the edge - I'd be like Helen with my head buried. Quite entertaining and moves the story along splendidly.
