Ok. I guess you are editing this book so it's done and almost ready for publication. What an accomplishment. I have to say that the friends at Fanstory really help us to get things done.

Well done.

Hi Barbara, I was a bit surprised to see this. I was not aware there'd been a request for an epiloque. I think the novel ended fine as it stands, but that's, of course, just my opinion. Ulla:)))

There probably about ten or more requests for an epilogue and somebody after this still wanted more. LOL

It's your novel, but I was left hanging a bit, with the very sudden ending, like I said, it's your book Barbara, but it would be nice to know how they fares through that difficult time, but it is fiction and you know how you suffered with your sickness. Don't worry about me. Blessings Roy

Thank you for sharing this in answer to requests for an epilogue. I agree with you just leaving your ending as it is for now. I hope you have great success in getting this book published.

Barb,

hahahahahahaha! What a smart girl you are! In other words, go write your own story, if you want. This is hard work! hahaha

You are fun and smart and definitely entertaining! Thanks so much!

BTW, I made a list of potential titles for this one last night. haha It's pretty long but there may be a reasonable one in there if you're interested? ha

What a wonderful ending to a wonderful book. Of course, I will respect their privacy. Have you got your next one started yet? Have a great weekend, my friend. Shirley

I have already been posting Quiet Lawyer and I'm in the process of writing another novel, about halfway done. Thank you for the encouragement.

I was surprised to see this, Barbara, because I did think you'd ended the novel well, but some readers always want more. We could be writing one story for years! lol You did a good job of handling it.

Thank you for the kind review. Readers tend to become friends with the characters and that's a good thing.

You're welcome, Barbara. It's true readers become attached to the characters if they're believable, so I guess it's a compliment to the writer. I've actually been missing Grace and Bob since I finished my novel. lol

I strongly suspect that a request for more is fueled by a reluctance to let go of the strong and popular characters you created. I realize that you do nit want to be tied to these characters forever and desire to move on to other stories, other characters. I too am attracted to the characters and their story, but at the same time, I grant you the freedom to move on.

I like that quotation "Happily ever after is not a fairy tale. It's a choice." So true. Your request that people honor Katherine and Gabriel's privacy at this time sounds like the request people make when there's been a tragic death in the family. Personally, I would have liked another chapter or an epilogue to show how Gabriel was able to arrange a wedding on such short notice! Mary Higgins Clark usually had an epilogue in her novels. It's your decision, and all the best with your novel. judi

There may be a more detailed one later, but I can't promise. It's truly up to the characters. They haven't given me anything, yet. I will be working on this novel for a while. We'll see what develops.

Your characters are enjoying their privacy, at least for the time being. It's fascinating that they can take on a life of their own. judi

Mine do. I have no clue why. Remember by novel about Savannah, Georgia? My Confederate Soldier used to smoke cigars in my bathroom. For real, through the entire novel, I had cigar smoke in my bathroom. Once I finished it and the editing, the smoke smell stopped.
reply by judiverse on 02-Apr-2022
That's funny. If you're like me, I don't enjoy the smell of cigar smoke. And why couldn't he stay out of your bathroom? I'm glad the smoke ended after you finished the book. I remember that one, and I enjoyed it. judi
