This reminded me of Frost in style and construction. You had nice echoing effect in the rhymes, the easy gait, the pastoral romantic imagery. It's like this quiet moment when you watch the snow from your window and it brings back memories of childhood and this innocent appreciation of the world. Very much like Stopping by Woods On a Snowy Evening. estory

Nice memory poem Mrs. Melissa.
My only question for you, your refrain isn't an iambic tetrameter, it there a reason for this? Not important, I was just wondering

Hi Eugene. Thank you for your comments. I double checked the meter and it is in iambic... the refrain is taken from the first line and is just a portion of the line,... usually four syllables... I chose the first part of the line... as snow drifts down... Thanks again.

ah, okay.
I think I was little confused as to what the poetry dance site said about it.
Comment from June Sargent
I must try this format - it flows beautifully with that repeated line highlighting the imagery of drifting snow. And it compliments the passage of time that like sand in an hourglass. You are a true craftsman when it comes to poetry!

June, your lovely review is so encouraging to me. I am very glad you liked this rondeau about the snow. I hope to be sitting in that chair tomorrow afternoon when it is supposed to come down here in central Virginia... perhaps, as I watch it, I will pen another Rondeau. :). Thanks so much, my friend.

Your rondeau reads well Melissa. I like the subject, the great picture, and your well thought out words. Great job with the style of rondeau, too. Your repeated phrase fits in smoothly. I like the way the drifting snow gives the person time to think about his/her life as they watch it.
Respectfully, Jan

It's a beautiful poetic rendition here in this Rondeau of a snow- covered reverie 'dear memories return en masse 'and a distinct sense of the passing of time

I love the descriptive words which flow just like falling snow and invite me into this experience.
I accept and am taken into an ethereal experience and feel as though I am there too.
A fine feat for have never experienced snow falling other than on television.
Blessings

For me the rondeau is a challenge, but once I get into the composing of one, I start enjoying it! Yours is excellent--expressive, descriptive of how some sights in nature can capture us and summon memories in addition to summoning thoughts of those hourglass sands!
