Hahahaha! I'm glad you're not really such a fool as your main character. His wife might have wanted to throw the breakfast at him, unless she was very, very forgiving. I personally wouldn't have minded a nice breakfast in bed, but knowing my husband had wasted $200 on lottery tickets might have spoiled my appetite. It's a crazy story, but well done! Could anybody be that stupid? Just consider the divorce rate.
