Still the mystery of who Suzanne was, continues. A good, cheeky ending to a very enjoyable chapter. Love the dialogue to and fro between this couple, it is very natural and easy to visualize.

Oh!!! And after visiting the church too! LOL. I'm afraid I don't have much 'faith' in Catholic priests, many of whom should be 'planted' outside the cemetery borders. The Pope was put through it in Ireland last week. Well, we have another excellent chapter, now we need to find that lady, Mademoiselle Françoise Gaudin, and perhaps the brother? Another wonderful chapter, Tony. :) Sandra xx

Oh!!! And after visiting the church too! LOL. I'm afraid I don't have much 'faith' in Catholic priests, many of whom should be 'planted' outside the cemetery borders. Very interesting chapter that I have stumbled upon. I enjoyed your writing style and would like to read more if this story. Please keep it coming! I like the humor and the way the characters play off of each other's lines. I could easily envision the story in my mind with your great descriptions.

Many thanks for these positive comments, Marilyn. This project is a new departure for me. I'm rather enjoying it! Thanks for your comments about burial in denominational cemeteries. I may have to research that part more carefully and make an adjustment. Estelle would have lived in the parish and may have been a Catholic. I suspect that it might have been the conduct of her life that caused her to be buried in unconsecrated ground. Perhaps Helen and Charles will be able to uncover the truth of it!

Hi Tony. It is fun to try something apart from the norm, isn't it? But you've written stories before which have been great. Your writing is always stellar. No worries about the cemetery thing. Who knows how the church handled things back then. Being a parishioner and having been baptized in the faith, I believe, were and are still the guidelines. Marilyn

I'm glad I caught this chapter of your delightful story. I read another chapter previously but if my recollections are correct, then I've missed a few chapters in between since then. Still the story is so well written that I could nevertheless remember it and the protagonists.

The dialogue is wonderful and aai liked this a lot:
""Caviar comes from the virgin sturgeon,
The virgin sturgeon is a very fine fish.
The virgin sturgeon needs no urgin',
That's why caviar is a rather rare dish."

Yes, I hesitated about the rather corny ghoul in the dead centre, but think I'll leave it there for the moment. Ghoul/girl seems like a good Charles sort of pun! He's got an odd sense of humour.
Helen is beginning to appeal to me more as I get to know her! A film? I'd be happy just to finish the book!
