Take courage my friend, I have been called that before. Though like many people I was raised in a particular religion, the emphasis in my home was always on being kind, compassionate, and loving to others, even when this did not sit well with others who were in fact, religious. Interesting post that shows where the importance of a follower of God should lie.

This is very interesting Roy and I see how some people might say that. I'm no expert on the matter by all means. But for me it's about have faith and belief. For example my kids grew up as catholics as many of us have done so through generations and once they got older and starting having learning more about religion, they are on their own journeys of discovery. Well done thos one really got my thinking cap on.

I'm glad you have true faith in the Lord and not a religion. The Pharisees had religion but missed out in the amazing saving love of Jesus! Thanks for sharing the gospel!

Did you not have faith when you were growing up Roy? I have been brought up with it and have known no other life. I went to a church school from the age of five. I suppose there is a difference between being religious and being self righteous. I enjoyed your skilful post as you tell your story here, fine rhymes and metre within, love Dolly x x x

Well done, on a fine poem which is tightly structured and has a good flow and rhyme. Your theme is an important one. Many people think that good and religious people are welcomed into His kingdom, but salvation is by His grace and mercy alone.

God did not send His son to die to teach us all His laws but to show us how to live a purposeful life. Your poem as other is quite uplifting, penned with humility of faith in God. Thanks for sharing your inspiration, dear Roy.

Religion is a word the world uses to describe certain types of behavior. Christianity is a spiritual condition, not a religion. Well done.

Religion is man made, Jesus wasn't a Catholic, Lutheran, Methodist... He was a Jew. We all have Jewish roots in our so called religions. A good poem to ponder.
