penned well. If you drink

Hello Barbara,
I read your post with interest, and I must say, I have nothing against the Romance novel and I appreciate that millions are writing and reading them...I enjoy writing Romance poetry, but I
much prefer the Spiritual writing, and I've been here since 2004.

I certainly wish you continued success.
I think people write what interests them most, it's not that they don't know what makes for a Romance novel, whether Religious, Spiritual or simply a tale of love and the experience of sharing romantic moments, people write what they enjoy creating...

Thanks for sharing the information about writing Romance novels, I'm sure there are those that found it impressive.
I give the 6 stars because of the information given and the writing...

All the best!

Warmly,
Victoria

Thank you for the kind review. The romance novels I write are basically Christian Romance, always with a something that needs to be solved.

This was interesting. I had no idea that romance was that popular. Sami and Noah's story is light suspense/ romance. I love Catherine Coulter she makes the women every bit as tough as the men. If only I could go back in time for a redo, I would go into detective work. :-)

Yes, romance is very popular and there are tons of sub-genre among it.

I like your approach If we think of it as a verb it gets a little sketchy: "I only addressed the noun. I didn't bother with romance as a verb." including the basic elements in here that you have is very helpful. Your effort to distinguish between the several genres is also extremely helpful.

Thank you for the kind review and going back to this post. I have a reviewer who says I have no romance in my novel. LOL That's why I wrote this.
reply by Liz O'Neill on 11-Mar-2024
So now you can say you have romance in your novel. We don't necessarily have to say how you are approaching romance and your novel but you do have romance in your novel. And I would say to the reviewer "So what what? I'm still a great writer.& Liz will testify to that."
reply by the author on 11-Mar-2024
LOL// I believe this particular person believes if it's not filled with sex there's no romance. I happen to believe there's a lot more to romance than sex.
reply by Liz O'Neill on 11-Mar-2024
That's what I was suspecting so they don't really know what romance is They should read your post maybe they'll learn something.
reply by the author on 12-Mar-2024
This post on Romance the person I actually wrote it for didn't read it. LOL

Since you are a fan, it should've come to your PM box. I wrote this because it's come to my attention, through reviews, that some people don't understand romance.

Yeah, Sis, you and me both had the Eternal Matchmaker, huh! I am so glad I waited for God's choice in my life.
reply by the author on 23-Mar-2023
Me too. I just wish more people would. Then I think our society would be a better place.
reply by Sankey on 23-Mar-2023
Yep. More solid marriages, lives and children. Just sorry I could not give Loise children but as it worked out probably better, with our health deterioration etc.

Romance is not my cup of tea. However, you do write the genre well. My review is full of questions more than a regular review would be. Some of them noted:

-Does Romance always have to contain a happy ending? Real life does not, particularly in relationships.

-Easy to see why sex sells the most. Human nature.

-Would like to know the sources this information came from.

-Any particular reason you did not address Romance as a noun?

Keep writing what you create. You do it well.

Thank you for the kind review. If there are any other questions, please let me know. I had a very long reply for you, but my computer froze, and I lost it all. Yes, all traditional romances novels need a happy ending or at least allude to one. The reason is the audience. Most people read them to escape from reality. Most of my sources were the Romance Writers of America. It's the top dog in romance writing. I addressed romance as a noun, not a verb. Here it is as a verb. It really doesn't add anything to what I was saying.
    romance verb
    romanced; romancing
Definition of romance (Entry 2 of 4)
    intransitive verb

1: to exaggerate or invent detail or incident
2: to entertain romantic thoughts or ideas
    transitive verb

1: to try to influence or curry favor with especially by lavishing personal attention, gifts, or flattery
2: to carry on a love affair with

Thanks for the definition. I will have to keep this one for future reference. I'm actually a romance writer. My two published novels are romance novels:
Last Kiss In Tiananmen Square: Historical Romance
Chinese Lolita: A linked short story collection that has many romantic short stories.

Thanks for the useful information.

I have posted a few chapters of a new Romance called "A Genius' Assistant" that was a fantasy/romance involving working for the famous Elon Musk. I should keep working on it because he has turned into a romantic person, I wish him to.

This is a fascinating write!!
I had very little knowledge regarding romance novels/ genre, up until now at least.
This post is informative and detailed.
I didn't realize the category distinctions within the Romance genre.
Erotica seems like the clear favorite with readers. I mean sex does sell, like it not not:)
I can not comment on your novels, as I have not read them.
But I can comment on how terrific is post is, very well done!!

Romance appears to be the winner. From the beginning, there have been many stories. Certain cultures plan many relationships. Some were formed through deceit. Evil stems from money.

There are some people who fake their love and happiness. I appreciate you sharing this.
