Well, it's hard to laugh about irony in those circumstances; but maybe you were lucky in a different way. If that event hastened ending of a marriage which was doomed anyway, then you "won" the better life you have now in the process. Notice who moped -- not you. YOU have what truly matters -- a heart full of love and people to share it with. You can't take money with you when you go, but the love is part of your soul....

Every Friday, my father wrote down the six numbers he would have played if he bought a ticket, but he never bought one. On Sunday, he would look in the newspaper to see what the winners were. I asked, "why do you do that, so you can commit suicide if your numbers came in?
