I'm coming into this write the middle of something and have no idea of the characters, settings or anything. When you do this sort of thing as I'm doing I look for writing and tidbits that tell me no matter where I am in the book that tell me it's worth checking out further. Often on Fanstory, I find it better not to comment and just hit 'next'.
This one 'has it".
It being: "Helen sidestepped to avoid a dog turd on the pavement,"
"clever clogs?"
"All we've found so far is a grumpy gardener, with a grudge against the creep who seduced his grandmother."
"according to Father Lacroix, she's got a screw loose."
It's the 'little things' ....
Like I said if you don't know anyone or anything and still enjoy the read then you know it was a good writer at least

So glad to now have access to your intriguing story. As I said I will go back a few to get "in the 'know' "more...later. No spags, can't wait to read more. I did a play on words about Toulouse Lautrec in my "Geoffossary" in my "Little Dog" book. (at the back)

Hmmm. Why would they tell Helen to get rid of Charles? She's in this deeper than previously thought. It will be interesting to see what the two strange men want. Charles had better watch out when he follow her.

The plot thickens, as they say!

That's a twist in the story. Now Helen seems to be working on her own, maybe against Charles. The pace is picking up and we're no longer just sight-seeing through the countryside. I'm starting to wonder where you're going with this. Well done, Tony.
