I have never done an author's fair so I appreciate your sharing the details of your experience. I have done artist's events (I am a painter) and know how disappointing it can be when these events are not properly advertised. Congrats on your sales and on your enthusiasm for doing it again.

Barbara, I truly enjoyed reading your writing and viewing your excellent presentation! To share your opinion and experience, you've used imagery and specific words that draw in a reader. At the end when you mention the Author's table, it would be clearer to start with you. (Although I didn't make it into thepapee, my Author's table etc etc). And congratulations about your upcoming honor. I look forward to seeing all of that. You certainly deserve this and more! I so enjoy your writing and I'm honored to know you! Best wishes! :)) Alexandra xo
would (have had ) many more people attend.

I so totally appreciate this update. Your detailed description of your experiences will help many writers on this site. Congratulations on your sale of thirteen books. That is a lot, certainly far more than anyone else at the fair. Who knows what it would have been had the fair been publicized. I wish you much success in your journey.

Lack of publicity no doubt dampened the event. Not really a good explanation why the library, of all places, did not better publicize and support the book fair.
Shouldn't "fallen out" be falling out?
Sometimes the networking is the best result of an event like this book fair. Who knows where the contacts may lead to.

Thank you for the support. Thank you for the catch. I seemed to have picked up a Texan accent and it sometimes comes across in my writing. I need to watch that closer. My high school and college classmates would be appalled. LOL

I really think the hometown writer element helps. It's good that you're getting this exposure. The meeting of other authors is beneficial as well. Thanks so much for posting this update. And as for advertising, they should have done a better job. Maybe next time. Gretchen

Well it seems that there may have been a disappointment or two, but your positivity far outweighs any negative. It looks like overall it was a successful event for you as you indicated you would do it again.
Keep us posted.

Hi Barbara. First the good news: I did receive your book, and thank you for signing it. I thought your publisher did a nice job on the book, and the cover looks great. I have put it in the queue and look forward to reading it.
I find your experience interesting. My book about Santa is now set to be released on November 7th. So I have only got about six weeks to sell it. They wanted to wait till after Halloween. I don't have enough time to do the author experience like you.
We never know when something will click, and things start going up! Keep up the good work. Terry.

Thank you for the support. I have another book that I'm hoping to be ready for publishing in about a month or two. I got it back from the editor, and made corrections, and read it in case I made mistakes correcting and am almost finished with the second reading to make sure I didn't make any more mistakes. I am never completely satisfied. I'm afraid to read Gateway, because I'm sure I'll see things, I want to change.
