Such a terrible situation. So glad he has met a more kind soul in the prison. It must be awful to be imprisoned in a country which one's own country had colonized with very bad outcomes. Great job with the description as always. Hope Helen is okay!

Thanks for the review, Helen. I think your namesake is well able to look after herself under most circumstances. Not so sure about poor old Charles, though!

I don't envy Charles one bit. I hope you have plans to extricate him from this predicament.

Only one comment: In a previous chapter, you did mention trying to avoid one sentence paragraphs but in the following, I would have double-spaced it or moved the "Don't worry" up a line to follow on from 'beside me'.

After a while, a young man whom I judged to be in his twenties came and sat beside me.
"Don't worry about him, man. He's mad but quite harmless. What are you in for?"

I hope your week goes well.
Judy

Someone's going to need to extricate him, and that's for sure.
Thanks for picking up the paragraphing error. I had intended it to be as you suggested, but it came up in the editor looking as though they were joined. All fixed now.

Well done again and still SIXES to be had. I need to get my "swansong" of a poem finished to put up as I leave these hallowed posting and reviewing halls. No spags.

Thanks, Geoffrey. As always, I appreciate your review and support - also the sixth star. I shall look forward to reading your swansong, though sad to see you go.

Poor Charles he still goes through a lot of pain because of the mission he signed off for and he can't have any help from his own country because officially he can't tie his organization to his mission. I hope you make him escape in the next chapter:) Thank you for sharing and good luck with the next chapter.

Thanks, Iza. Yes, Charles is in a bit of trouble. Not sure at this stage how he's going to get out of it. Like you, I hope that he does - otherwise I'm short of a hero! LOL

Very good!! This kept my interest from the first word. The fact that it seems to take place around our time. My son spent 3 tours over seas and the things you talk about I've heard. Good job!

Real help is ever initiated at one's own, in a foreign land, one has to follow the rule of the country, benefits of doubt holds the day, waiting for justice; well said, well done.
