Eeeek! I was afraid of something like this. All along, Charles has been too trusting of Helen. I can't wait to see how he gets himself out of this mess and goes home.

I love this line. Dowagers' humps is a great description. Good imagery.

While I'm not very clear on your plot line, I find your characters intriguing. I love the dialogue. "I wouldn't if I were you. That odious ball of fat has half the police force of Pakistan in his pocket. He's a dangerous man." I really enjoy 'listening' to this guy speak. This is turning into a heck of a blockbuster novel. Good writing, Tony!

Hi Tony, here goes my last six and I'm glad I still got it, because this writing certainly deserves it. As you know I've never really trusted Helen and is she going to prove me right? It's superb story telling, indeed, and the plotting is marvelous. Can't wait to reading on. All best. Ulla:))

Oh no, that's not good. And with him being stuck on that train under that rues, what is he going to do? The chapter is well-written, very interesting, believable start to finish. I look forward to reading more.

Thanks for your review, Mistydawn. Poor Charles does seem to have got himself into a spot of bother. I?m not altogether sure how he?s going to get out of this mess. Time will tell! All the best, Tony.

The plot thickens and Helen's behaviour becomes more and more problematic.

The description of the passing scene is very evocative, especially the paragraph beginning: 'As this foreground blur fell behind us, my eyes were drawn to the line of snow-capped mountains crouched low on the horizon; mountains with narrow ravines and gullies, ...'

Just one thought:
The weathered man who led it wore a loose fitting shirt stained with sweat, ingrained with poverty. - should 'loose fitting' be hyphenated perhaps?

Best wishes
Judy

Thanks, Judy. You?re right, loose-fitting needs the apostrophe. I?ve changed it. As always, I appreciate your comments and the panoply of stars. All the best, Tony

Great chapter and so glad we still have some precious Sixes. Still plenty of excellent descriptiveness in the storytelling. I am not sure how much I can do with my new little brother free account yet will fan you tomorrow. Only allowed so many a day or maybe I did already. Look for Pinny2 if you have not seen him already. I pit a book basloon on Tootsie's Our Trips book and got absolutely NO responses.

Thanks, Geoffrey, for the six stars, your generous comments, and the heads-up about Pinny2. I?ve not had a great deal of time for reviewing recently as I?m up in Brisbane visiting my daughter, who?s due to give birth within the next few days.

Hi there
Although not following the novel, I found this chapter gripping reading. The pace is fast, the writing excellent. Good description, Just the right balance. I found nothing to correct. What I did notice was that you use a lot of question marks within the chapter. I am wondering if there may be too many questions for the reader to fathom in such a small amount of text. Just a thought. Skilled writing. Marion.

Thanks for your review, Marion, and your support and encouragement. It means a lot to me. I appreciate your comment about the over-abundance of questions and will have another look at that. Very useful feedback. All good wishes, Tony

A very well-written chapter. The things that did not make sense before start to form a pattern pointing directly to Helen the one who he trusted the most is a possible double agent and Charles can be a dead man walking.

very interesting last chapter summary you capture my interest. Interesting opening paragraph. What does garrulous mean? You describe the background scenery and the people well bringing your story into life/

Very many thanks for your six-star review, Beizanten. Much appreciated. Garrulous means excessively talkative, especially on trivial matters. In this case it refers back to the previous chapter.
