Third world countries are an experience all of their own. Once again you are doing a wonderful writing this story. I know I said it repeatedly but I really like this story.

Hi Tony, I have been following along on your story and have be enjoying it immensely. I was puzzled by the word "Cloasing" in the first opening line. Did you mean "Closing?"

Thanks, Don, for picking up the typo, which I've now fixed. Glad you are still enjoying the story. All the best, Tony

Boy, you got a whole casta characters! This venue seems to promote the stories, so am only so glad to see. Always, love inclusions into other cultures. Am reading Laurence Burrell right now, which fits insidiously into this whole nature. Happy posting!

You did a great job with this chapter, Tony. I believe Helen is hiding many things and using the trying on of clothes as a ruse. I would not trust her as far as I could throw her. I believe Rasheed is working both sides, too. Your words flow smoothly, although I don't know what the French words mean or the rate of exchange. I can get the gist of some from context. Thanks for sharing. Jan

You do have a suspicious mind, Jan. LOL Yes, either Helen or Rasheed could end up being other than they seem at first. We shall see. Thanks so much for continuing to follow this story. Much appreciated! Tony

A fascinating episode, on place I haven't been is Pakistan, and of course Australian cricketers don't go there anymore, they play in Dubai these days. I love buying things in foreign countries, one never quite knows what the going price for things actually are. Not knowing what a Salwar Kameez is, but I'm sure to find out I guess, well done Tony, blessings, Roy

Thanks, Roy. I think that parts of Pakistan are still quite dangerous, but it depends where you go. As always on the sub-continent, it is easy to find oneself in the wrong place at the wrong time. The Salwar Kameez is a traditional form of female dress. It gets expanded upon in the next chapter. All the best, Tony

You paint a colorful scene here in Lahore, the bazaar, the urchins begging for money, the seductive Helen, all swirling around Charles and spinning him around in all kinds of directions. It's all very exotic and there is a subtle, unsettling feel to the whole thing that could set the stage for the action to come. estory

Thanks, estory. Glad you enjoyed the touches of local colour in this. Yes, the stage is being set!

Rasheed was a good as his word. - as good as.
prayed as the taxi darted from lane to lane like a knight traversing a chess board.- I like this. Perfect descriptor. (although I think chessboard can be a single word)
I felt a bit of a heel abandoning him, but life is precious.
- lol
I like the peppering that Charles' gives his accounts. Makes it most interesting.
No matter where in the world, or what the situation, clothes prove a great distraction for the fairer sex...lol

I would hate being in Charles' shoes in a strange place and not knowing who to trust. Is Helen really out back trying on something? Maybe she's given him the slip.

There's a downside to all of these exotic places, especially when in the company of such a flibbertigibbet! Giving him the slip? I believe she's about to give him the whole damned wardrobe!

Aha! East is east and westerners had better be on their guard. This takes me back, Aden, Singapore, Vientianne, Colombo, Kandy and on and on. This was a fine chapter. I felt sure Charles was going to come back to that shop and finf Elen had been spirited away, but you successfully resisted the temptation.

Yes, there's a certain commonality in these places. I've never been to Pakistan, but it's not hard to draw on the experience of other places. Thanks very much for the sixth star. I imagine it may be a while before Helen is spirited away. I need that grain of sand under Charles's skin.

No doubt it will produce a pearl of literature.

A simple, interesting and informative taletelling about a shopping expedition, experience of eating gol gappa, bargaining at jewelry shop, trying a salwar kameez; well said, well done. Liked and enjoyed the read. Write to Inspire, Change.
