An intimate chapter, allowing the reader into Bisto's home as an unseen guest.

Excellent portrayal of Bisto's unease over the strange fate of his ancestor which he covers with bluster.

Chapter ends with the reader just as eager as Charles to discover what happened.

I'm impressed by the consistent excellence of your writing.

Blessings, Julia

Exceptional

The sixpack is almost arbitrary. Most all of the chapters in this write are deserving. The attention to narrative and descriptive detail is glorious without ever turning "purple". Each finely drawn character has their own voice, their own idiosyncrasies. I dips me 'umble lid, mister Fawcus. Cheers - DJ

Thanks, DJ. I appreciate the sixpack. Two would go to my head these days. Your comments about the character definition are music to my soul.

A smooth transitional chapter leading into another facet of the story. I was reviewing a ghost story and now this that sent me into memories of a
large, ancient house my parents lived in rent free for two bad years(it was haunted, they say). Excellent post.

Thanks, Red. I've stayed in one or two houses like that in my team. My aunt's house in Guildford used to send shivers down my spine. So did she, for that matter.
