Wow! This was certainly a different chapter. Now I know why you kept us waiting all this time. Was Gaston an enemy of the state or something? Goof work anyhow. Can't wait to see where it all goes. No spags.

Thanks, Tootsie. The action has been a long time in coming. Glad you hung around for it! I appreciate the validation of the sixth star.

The agencies and courts in the USA would haggle forever and charge your protagonist with depraved indifference and involuntary third degree hate crime racist slaughter....with continuances until he died a natural death...excellent chapter.

I don?t suppose he?d get much support or sympathy from anyone if he were caught - least of all from the authorities.

Very well-written, and with just the right amount of suspense. I want to read the rest! Just the sort of novel I love to read. Thanks for that. I really DO want to read the rest. Where do I find it?

Many thanks for your interest and for the sixth star. Glad you found some amusement in this chapter. If you look in my portfolio, you?ll find all 48 chapters of The French Letter. It?s been a work in progress for over a year now. I?m hoping to get the first draft completed within the next few months.
Welcome to the site. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh! I can't believe what's just happened, nor can Charles. That envelope has certainly spiced up his life! So, more intrigue, and more danger, because I'm sure Charles has unwittingly placed himself in the thick of things and should start looking over his shoulder. I wonder where Helen comes into all this, as I'm sure she does somewhere, or Jeanne! Can't wait to find out what happens next. :)) Sandra xxx

Thanks very much for the sixth star, Sandra. I?m sure that it won?t be too much longer before your namesake, Helen, reappears on the scene!

My goodness, Tony. This is a fabulous story. What the heck is going on and what mess has Charles landed in? I can't wait what's next.
Just found a couple of things:
Churrasqueira Galo, = Churrasqueria Galo,
(It origins from Brazil, Sorry not trying to be clever )
It was hardly the work of a genius put two and two together and realise = ...genius to put two and ...
All the best. Ulla:))

Thanks so much for picking up these errors, Ulla. Appreciated. I cut-and-pasted the restaurant name straight from Google - not always the most reliable of sources.

I swear these posts are among the easiest and most frequent sixes I give out. I rarely use them all.
Superb culmination to this part of the story. great pacing.
I love the understated, yet completely pictured nature of the opening line of this instalment.
allowed himself a ghost of a smile as he added, - great expression.
I love the fact that this is quintessentially British writing. The word choices are so much more... choice. Lol
It was hardly the work of a genius put two and two together - to put?
All the best

Glad you?re enjoying the Britishness of this, G. It has some of our Transatlantic friends bamboozled! I appreciate the sixth star.

Omigosh! Poor Charles, knowing he delivered a bomb to the man. However, he's lucky he wasn't with him when the package was opened. It will be interesting to see how Charles gets out the hold these people have on him. Your story makes me wonder how much this sort of thing may happen in real life.

I?m sure that some people are conned into doing things they would never have dreamed of. It certainly happens with drug trafficking.

I imagine it happen more than we know about. What a nightmare to be in that position.
