Cheers, Tony;
> I just hope where there saying they got some good food like they did in the last place.
> "There isn't one thing it's another thing." It's that quote that Rosanna Rosanna Danna quoted that on Saturday night live.
>It seems that seems to happen to Charles and Helen as they seem to be going down the right track and something happens. It's just frustrating for the reader as I want to know what happens.
> Meeting with Mme. Lefuavre Sounds like a very ratcheting old woman with an attitude.
> I really enjoyed reading this as I like to set up chapter of your book and see what they come up other staying over having their car repaired.
> Thanks for sharing this, Tony, take care and have a good one and blessings to you and all your family.

Good to hear from you, Alex. The quest doesn't seem to be making much progress yet, what with one darn thing after another! Maybe tomorrow, after a good night's sleep! All the best to you and your family, too. Tony

Looking forward to it, Tony, take care and have you and your family be blessed by the Lord.

Sounds like they are stuck together for another night and having to wait for the car to be fixed before continuing on their journey.. Maybe soon they will be on their way again.

I liked the reference to la tricoteuse who knitted the hair of guillotined heads...I'm loving the frenchness of this. I took french in school many moons ago. Sometimes I watch movies in french to keep it fresh in my mind
God bless

Thanks, Jenny. I appreciate the review. I took the reference from Charles Dickens' Tale of Two Cities - I don't think I've heard of the knitting of hair before. Even more grotesque than his version!
-
My memory was from the Scarlet Pimpernel I might be wrong but I thought the crone gathered the heads ...I might be wrong about knitting the hair... groan I've got to google it
-
No, you're probably right. I'd forgotten the Scarlet Pimpernel. Years and years since I read that!

Well written as always, and having been to Paris and other parts of France several times, I enjoy the street and building references. Welcome humor with the dialogue as well as the name of the restaurant. Is there really such a place?

Thanks, Shari. Glad you?re enjoying it. Yes, there actually is a restaurant called that in Versailles. It was established in 1740.

Nice work on this chapter, Tony. The two of them seem to be having quite an adventure, even without managing to find the lady they're looking for. Very enjoyable, interesting historical notes thrown in for good measure - I'm enjoying it all,
Carol

They're having a lot of trouble finding out anything. I hope they're not disappointed when they find this lady. My first car was a Fiat 500. I bought it used in 1961.

Thanks, Yvonne. Sounds like it was a well loved vehicle. Did it have a name? LOL

I enjoyed your chapter, Tony. I feel as if I am traveling along in the French countryside. That lady with the poodle seems uppity for sure.
The smoking dog eatery sounds like it has much history associated with it. Should 'smoking dog's' be capitalized even though it is only the translated name?
I liked the comment about 'tourists only wear jeans.'
Good job and thanks for sharing. Jan

Thanks, Jan. I appreciate your comments. I wasn't sure about capitalising 'smoking dogs' in that bit of dialogue. You may be right, but I think I'll leave it like that for a little while and see what other people say, too. All the best, Tony

The trail that Helen and Charles are on has been revived and revitalised after a trip to see Dr. Laurent, and bumping into Madam LaFauvre, who enlighten them on who Alain Gaudin was purported to be. But the break down just a few Kms from their intended destination. Excellently scribed episode Tony, well done, blessings, Roy
Typo : "I'm told it used (to) be frequented by..."
