Hello Barbara,
I'm glad you decided upon a plan to move forward. It can be overwhelming at times when faced with doing things we don't really want to do. I'm sure you spent a fair amount of time praying about what to do. I suspect that it will all come out in the wash, and you'll be happy with what you've elected to do.

Hmm, YouTube shorts are nice, but they are extremely competitive and, like FanStory's YouTube page, get next to no traffic. Monetization is very difficult and requires a lot of views. I would try traditional media. Billboards, and newspaper ads, with digital competition, their prices have gone down. Plus, consider your target audience is likely older readers. Also, target places where older women frequent.

4,000 watch hours over the last 12 months
at least 1,000 subscribers on your channel. (just looked it up what it takes to get monetized)
My husband is doing YouTube videos and has 610 subscribers and has 1.2K views on some of his videos. According to my publisher, with their professional graphics I will make. We'll see. If not, then I know that wasn't the way to go. Thank you for the support.

I wish you was the very best with your book sales. It's not an easy task. My book sales are just kind of stuck in the mud. I don't know whether I will ever sell very many of them, but at least they're out there if somebody wants to buy them. I've only published two and that's all I will ever publish. The politicians are discovering that the way to reach the young people is through things like blogs and social media. I'm not sure how that works, but there are a lot of influential bloggers out there. You can see how the videos go, but I think you'd be missing an opportunity if you turn down the morning talk shows. They will be aimed at local audiences and the probably won't last too long. But see how the videos go. You'd think the established authors didn't need that kind of publicity, but even James Patterson promotes his books on TV. Think about trying it. You'd think just writing the books would be enough, but there seems to be a lot more to it if you want them to sell.

I haven't ruled it out. I'm just not ready to do it. If the video's get enough views, I'll get paid for doing them. Thank you for the wonderful support.

Getting paid for the videos would be an incentive. Maybe it will encourage you to try the talk shows. You can handle them. judi
