What a beautiful and thoughtful tribute to your friend. I am sure his family will be so proud and blessed to see it. 9/11 seems to continue to take lives and cause pain. How sad! I hope those who knew August will write beautiful poetry to remember him.

-I didn't know August well, but
just from a few comments from
him about my work, he seemed
like a likeable person who cared
about other people.
-It is very sad to think he was
a part of the 9/11 tragedy and
that it eventually took his life, too.

This is a beautiful memorial piece written to commemorate the life and legacy of a fellow poet. In my opinion, it is the first stanza that both set the pace and carries the poem. The flow is excellent and the message is straightforward. Thanks for the affirmation of one who laid it on the line for others.
