You wrote a wonderful tribute to our favorite, Mastery. You would certainly remember those encouraging words, "Never sell yourself too short." They must have had special meaning for you. You also mention his detective fiction, and how admiration for them. I like the hard=boiled detective genre, and Bob handled it so well. I have autographed copies of some of his books, which I won't part with. I like your thought that you will hear echoes of his voice in what you write. Beautifully worded and touching. judi

You're welcome. Bob's death is hard to process. Yes, he was always very encouraging. When I first saw his picture on the site and saw all the awards he'd achieved, I thought he would really be high and mighty, but he was always very welcoming and encouraging. judi

I read several poems in Bob's honor and yours is my favorite thus far. I enjoyed the rhyme that is not forced and has a nice rhythm. You create a clear sense of your friendship with him. I didn't know him very well because I don't read stories, only poems. The few reviews we shared were kind and helpful. Well done.

This is a good ode to a nice man. He will be missed. I think I read all of his novels chapter by chapter, except for his first. For I started that one in the middle. He also did write wonderful poems. His reviews were always helpful and encouraging.
I have always wanted to meet the other writers here. I was going to recommend maybe having a conference of fanstory writers in some hotel or meeting center. But then the pandemic hit.
