I liked the line "Time is linked to one's expectation." There were many examples given, and maybe you could add a short sentence or two that when you are in pain, time slows down and lasts even longer. Also, the first week after someone dies, time seems to slow down, even if you are planning a funeral or graveside service. It is certainly a fascinating subject. Otherwise, why would there be so many time travel books, movies, and TV shows? Thank you for sharing.

Beautiful story that embeds amazingly the required elements: baby, padlock and ribbon. The time is weaving all these elements in the finest sand and drops them in the hour glass. Good luck with the contest.

Thank you for introducing me to the Sumerian and Babylonian 60-count system. I have sometimes vaguely wondered why we do that to measure time. I think your comparisons about relevance of time to people at different stages of their lives is really interesting and shows an awareness of others' expectations and your own life experiences. I enjoyed this story very much.

You're thinking like I do. Time seems to go by like telephone poles by the highway. Not only babies, but pets know when it's time to eat, or when someone is due home. Uncanny! This is a well written piece, and enjoyable to read.
-when it is hungry and [it's] time to be [fed]

Hello Mystery Writer. I found your essay on the movement of time very interesting. Time does seem to vary speed , depending upon our circumstances. I recently wrote, "A Proposition of Time" in which my proposition is time stands still and we move as it watches us come and go. Your work is very thoughtful and well done. Robert

One of my ex-girlfriends never changed her clocks when time changed. She said, "Why bother? In a few months, I would have to change it again. Writing prompts are great.

Wonderful use of the elements in the story. I didn't even notice them until I'd finished and read the prompt, which means you used them organically.

Good luck in the contest, You have hit the clock in the face there is never enough time. Even in Groundhog Day when he had eternity, he ran out of time again and again until he accepted time was limited.

At first I thought I was sitting in a classroom, listening to a teacher explain the concept of time. But you are right in the fact that time is subjective to whomever is dealing with it, be it a child or a senior citizen.
I did see a few typos that need fixing.
it can sense when it is hungry and time to be (FED)feed
A (DAY PART)daypart and a night part,
