Succinctly put! I'd have stuck an AND in the list of shreddees, but I understand you had a strict word count. I can't imagine retiring because I'm self-employed, but this gives me an inkling...

Thank you, keep charging on!

This seventy-five-word story, Retired, has the required word count and reminds me that now that I'm retired I have to begin another career of leisure and reflection.

Roger that, but set your own schedules!
Comment from Mia Twysted
To be able to retire, something some people don't get, is wonderful. However, not many people think about how it will be a massive change. It is a new chapter indeed.
I love the way you told this story.

And loving it!
Comment from Sandra du Plessis
A very well-written seventy-five word flash fiction about retirement that comes sooner or later, when that day arrives we feel grateful for the end of our career and looking forward to our days of retirement.

And relieved!
Comment from Jeffrey L. Michaux
I think that we experience many things when we retire. As you've so eloquently stated, I think that there is a feeling or sense of separation that's real. On the one hand, you're glad to be retired. The other hand says that you've got it all planned out what you're going to do, but, do you? I like this well written work about retirement. Well done!

Thank you very much!

Been there, done that! Last day at work was bittersweet. Eight years later, I still miss going to work -- sometimes. But I enjoy the freedom retirement has given me. Good luck in the contest.

I hear ya on all! "Retirement" sayest my paperwork, but...Am going back to work part time in the next school year. Feel like I need the socialization. Never thought this would be the way, but yet again the finances! One reason took advantage of "early" retirement, cause wanted to write on a full time basis. We'll see where that leads...

Good success and just follow your passion!
Comment from Nike23
This is an okay story. I guess I expected more. Maybe because I am no where close to retirement I do not understand the excitement or gratification that one might feel.

What a great piece of flash on such a happy occasion. I actually retired on Wednesday, and I'm thrilled at the possibilities. Best of luck for the future!
Good luck in the contest.
Have a great day and God bless.

Best of successes in retirement and soar on the wings of Joy, like an Eagle!
Comment from CrystieCookie999
Guess I would have kept a business card or two if the logo was creative enough. Having never been "retired," I guess with the very last two lines, I would have put a comma between "journey" and "With" and un-capitalized "With" and that's all. I like the way you put an exclamation in "Retirement!" because it helps make it sound more down-to-earth.
