This was a semi-serious, and fun chapter, Barbara. I loved the banter between the three of them. It's true, what Drew said, they are never alone. I think Shana does love Drew, but she also loves her father who she would hate to upset. She is in a dilemma, but one that will most likely be overcome if Drew has his way. Well done, my friend, loved this part. :)) Sandra xx

Thank you for the kind review. We are going to watch Shana do some growing from now on.

Hi there,
I think Shana makes a great point here. Anderson does appear to be very needy himself. Relationships borne of high pressure situations rarely stand the time.
Most of them wanted to make the little girls look too grownup - I think in this instance grown up should be two separate words.
Shana stood. "They just came from the oven. They're hot. Be careful or you'll burn yourself." - this struck me as a little redundant given Jeff's just taken them out.

I went to my dictionary for grown-up and it's hyphenated.I have rewritten the oven sentence. Thank you, once again for your help.

More exciting too and fro. Still not sure where the romance is yet. She is still pretty stuck in Judaism. No spags and loved the little girl in the dress. Keep it up.

Hello Barb
I don't believe what Jeff said that Anderson is so concerned for Shanan's protection.
I know that I like the feeling of Stan protecting me, it makes me feel secure.
Barb, there is one place where you wrote that I was wondering about--
"Drew." (( don't you mean Anderson))?
Shana chewed on her lower lip. There's no way we can overcome the Jewish/Gentile issue.

Yes, his name is Anderson, but his friends and family call him Drew. They have since the beginning of the novel. Thank you for the kind review.

You are welcome, looks like the family likes to call him Anderson or Drew
I'm just wondering if someone who is new reading your novel, know that Anderson can be called by either name.

It looks as if Drew will have to rework his imagination. Shana in a swimsuit will destroy his imagination with a view of the real thing. This is very well written with very good imagery.

LOL Could be but I have a feeling Drew doesn't care. LOL

If that's the way you want to write it.

I really enjoyed this chapter. Terrific dialogue, as always and I enjoyed the clever and humorous banter between Drew and his brother. He expressed his feelings very well and there is no way Shana can talk him out of how he feels about her.

Hi, Barbara,
So, I'm thinking Drew is going to offer to convert to Judaism. It's the only solution I can see and it happened a lot in the area where I grew up. My brother dated a Jewish girl, but when it looked like it was getting serious, her father sent her to upstate NY to go to some college.
My brother was heartbroken for a while, but he moved on. I often wonder what it would have been like though.
Shana has to realize Drew's love is huge, and she'd be foolish to walk away from it,

I am thinking we might need a miracle to get Shana to come to her sense. We'll just have to wait and see. Thank you for the kind review.

Great chapter. Nice development about Shana buying the bathing suits and offering to teach Emily how to swim. Shana's still holding back because of the Jew-Gentile issue. Maybe she'll learn to get over it. Jeff certainly seems free to speak his mind to Drew. If the Mafia is still plotting, will it be safe for Shana to go swimming? One thing--I thought there might be some reference to Patricia in this, considering what just happened to her. Maybe it will come up later. judi

So here goes another six. Well, I think Shana has to losen up as well. It's starting to get annoying. If she's that religious and traditional then the story has come to an end. Period. I give it a six for writing, but not for content. What I feel like saying to Shana is 'get a life' or go back to where you come from. End of. All best. Ulla:)))

I think Shana is going to realize her real feeling before long. I really do, but when you been indoctrinated for that many years it won't just happen. Thank you for the kind and honest review.

Awesome as always. I can see the interaction with the characters, and understand what they are thinking and feeling. I understand how a man can misunderstand protecting someone as loving someone. When a man loves a woman, and depending on the man, they want to protect that woman, and feel its their job to do so. Every chapter I have read of your story is believable, even though its fiction. Well done again. You have shown why you are at #8 on the rankings. Look forward to the next chapter.
