I've missed quite a few chapters as I've been gone from the site, but happy to know that the story about Shana and Anderson - familiar characters to me - is still going on. Do compost piles really explode? I've never heard of that. Your method of writing is very compelling, one becomes immediately interested in the characters. I like how Anderson said the families are similar - I think different cultures often are more alike that different, when you think about it.

Compost piles can combust, but it's extremely rare. I just needed something. LOL Thank you for the kind review.

Ha, Barbara, a good fake out, "It looks like a compost pile or something similar exploded." Nevertheless, this pushed Anderson and Shana together. I'm vacationing in Mexico right now, so reading about people eating migas and chorizo north of the border appealed to me.
The theme of this chapter was families, their differences and similarities. The Sharp family form a nice counterbalance to Shana's family. Anderson spoke the theme of this chapter: "I told you there were a lot of similarities between our families."
Your prose is clean and your characters, dialogue, and action are engaging and entertaining.
Thank you for sharing.

Have fun in Mexico. Thank you for the kind review.

That was a close call. They will need to do a thorough inspection to be sure it was an explosion, Anderson's quick action was impressive too. Although, Anderson was unprepared, I like his father's get to the point attitude. Things are heating up and I fear Shanna has more to worry about than a scratch. Great work with this chapter and I look forward to the next chapter.

The reader was interested in this chapter from the beginning until the end and the chapter is filled with lots of imagery and emotions. I enjoyed the read.

Sometimes the most innocent questions are the ones that arouse problems for people. Odd booms, and the such, are things to be suspicious of. Found no errors to note. On occasion, even though a person may love someone there is reason to be concerned about them. Interesting read. Odd question about what Jewish people believe in. That could lead this story in so many diversified directions.

I wonder if Michael really lacks knowledge, or is he just leading Shana on? Drew chokes. I know the scratch is there for a reason, I wonder if it's a bullet graze or not, or a rusty nail, doesn't she need a tetanus shot? Well done Barbara, you've woven some intrigue in this chapter dear girl. Blessings, Roy

Hello Barb
I believe that Anderson dad has asked Shana a great question here I am waiting for her answers
to her question
After Michael helped himself to a healthy portion and began eating, he said, "Shana, I know Jewish people exist, but I don't think I ever met one. Exactly what do they believe?"
No wonder why Anderson chocked on his food

Sometimes an innocent question can get a person in trouble. Ignorance will get the same person in more trouble. This is very well written with a smooth flow of words, making for a very good read.
