Hi, Barbara. I actually enjoyed reading this chapter and I am looking forward to reading more. You are dealing with a contemporary issue here, and as awful as it is, forced prostitution and human trafficking exist.
No spags noticed.

It's made me curious to read more. There's not a lot here to go on.

What there is is interesting and it flows nicely. One suggestion, the two dogs leaving the room when their master bangs the table is a little flat. Did they scoot out with their tails tucked? They're shephers, perhaps they should have bristled and growled.

Since you haven't read my previous posts you don't know anything about these dogs. I am not sure why I should be knocked down on stars because you haven't read my previous posts.

Very intriguing chapter. One does Wonder a painting would be of such interest to the Russian mafia. Anderson ex-wife is an interesting intrusion in. Wonder why the police have been called to her house so often.

Hi Barbara, I haven't been on here in awhile and am trying to come back. I enjoyed reading this and will have to read the previous chapters. I especially was intriqued by the prostitution part. My daughter and son-in-law belong to a group called "Operation Underground Railroad"... maybe you've heard of it. It is so sad how kids all over the world and caught and sold for this vicious reason. Thank you for the encouraging review. I know of an underground railroad here in the US that helps abused spouses get to safety. I will do research on this one. Maybe I can highlight in my novel.

Excellent dialogue and interactions between characters.
I'm wondering what Shana is being followed.

A few minor things to look at, Barbara

largest underage prostitute rings on the East coast. - might I suggest Prostitution

Anderson('s) eyebrows crunched together

Daddy, can I have a snack[.](?)

Blessings,
Margaret

Ah, the plot thickens once again. It sounds like something is up in Patricia's household. Why on earth did she NOT feed her child?

Anyway, I am so curious to find out why Shana is being followed. I can only imagine.

I didn't have any nits or SPAG jump out at me and take away from my reading experience.

Looking forward to more,
~patty~

Letting up for the summer soon then. Oh joy. LOL I'm buying a house at the moment and hope to be moved by the summer.

Good chapter and some domestic revelations for Anderson upcoming.

Anderson eyebrows crunched together - Anderson's.

Patricia stepped off the elevator p perhaps from rather than off here?

"Daddy, can I have a snack. - needs a question mark here.

All the best

"It's not only girls. In countries like Thailand, many of the young males are sold into prostitution. Most countries, including the US, have problems with child prostitution but the main ones are Thailand, Brazil, India, Sri Lanka, and Mexico City. The Russian Mafias have their hands in all of it." Jeremy took a bite of a ham and cheese sandwich. "Starvation is a strong motivator." (Did you make this up, or is it true? )

After Anderson nodded, Jeremy continued, "We've been called to their apartment on more than one occasion." (Uh-Oh, Now I want to know why. Great cliff hanger)

Good morning, Barbara

Excellent continuation! You continue to weave an intricate plot regarding the Russian Mafia and your characters. The dialogue and interactions between your characters really push the plot forward. Enjoyed.

Take care and stay safe,
