I'm glad you had a positive even if it was small perhaps more intimate and friendly. But it must be frustrating how poorly was advertised. Thank you for sharing the information... that's nice of you.

Thank you for sharing this information. It sounds like it worked well for you selling books and getting contacts.I do not see any room for improvement. Have a blessed day.

Hi Barbara,
it's all still a good experience and sometimes networking with other authors pays dividends down the line. Can't fathom the lack of publicity though. That's a huge oversight.
All the best

Thanks for the author's update. It's good to see author's are out there, doing author's fairs and selling books. I'm sorry it was a bit disappointing. I've heard from other authors that signings and meet-the-author style events are often not what we'd hoped for. I hope your next one is better publicized. It's hard being an author.

Thank you so much for sharing your experience! I remember your other post that was at home and it sounded like a much better meet-n-greet event. But woo-hoo! Your name was in the paper!

Thank you for the support. Yes, and from my aqua fitness group it was in the other paper too, with a story. I can't wait to see it.

This is an useful information. I'm glad you are the best selling author in this event. How did you do it? I think it's because you have a good selection of books for people to choose from and they are well written books. I went to a local poetry reading and sharing recently. It only had about 15 people. I did enjoy reading my poems. We actually have a book fair every year in Minneapolis. I should attend next time.
Well done.
Can you share the info of the publisher in Kansas? Thanks.

Hi Barbara,
Thank you for sharing your experience with us on the book event. I'm sorry it wasn't advertised better. At least you know what you would do differently next time, right?
I'm glad you got the experience, though. It's nice to meet other authors (besides us, lol).
If you come to Texas, let the Texas crew know and we'll be there is a heartbeat.
Take care,
Rhonda

I'm glad I read this. Thank you for sharing! I'm an author also and have gone to several signing and events. Except for my first signing where all my friends and family came to buy a book, I've always sold no more than 7 books at a time. I've also been to events where only authors have shown up. If being the center of attention is what an author wants, along with making tons of money in royalties, well...they will learn quick enough that's not the way it usually goes. I'm glad you still got a lot of of this event. Networking and sharing with other authors is very rewarding! Keep writing! Blessings, Cathy

I participated in a book fair a few months ago. I did not sell a single book. It was a good experience, and I learned a few things. We also had the opportunity to hear Richard Blanco read some of his poems.

Nicely done.
My wife and I had a similar experience in Conway, Arkansas. The Public Library didn't advertise. There were more writers than the general public. And they just happened to be there that day. The only books sold were those swapped.
Best wishes.
