I knew you were a musician but I didn't know you had a family band. Thank you for sharing your story. I know God, family, and music are important to you and we get to read your beautiful poems. Well done!

A musical feel to this one Roy, and with the history behind makes this even more giving.
Music is the language of the world, and needs no deciphering, appearing in every walk of life.
Nicely done.
Best wishes.

Hey now, my first 6-star of the week! This is wonderful fun, and the backstory only enhances the poem/song itself. Great work, and I wish you continued success!

This has outstanding flow and rhythm and tells the complete story for the reader to follow. You have done a wonderful job putting this one together. I also like your presentation. It is beautiful to look at, easy to read and over all enjoyable.

Wowza Roy
Such endowment, you are blessed.
This poem is fabulous.
'Sadly' I could never drink more than one glass of wine or two beers.
And could never smoke.
Such a bore.
The topic and rhyming made me happy. :-))Z.

A lovely poem . I have always wondered about writing lyrics for a song and how difficult it must be. Working with a lot of constraints is challenging and satisfying but difficult. Very well w6

You must have an interesting life when you were young. You can still write songs now. The poems you write could be turned into songs. There must be many in your portfolio that would make wonderful songs. Blessings Ver

Your life testimony in your notes is as compelling as the poem, and yes, being musical and using a metronome would certainly help with the beat or rhythm and metre of a poem. Very well written!

Your poem's title reminded me of The Captain and Tenille and also Barry Manilow singing 'I Write The Songs'.
(I'm pleased my Troubadour Tom poem triggered this - thank you for mentioning it.)
I can feel the beat of the metronome in your poem - that is a handy hint for other writers to establish the beat to develop its musicality. Words are indeed your sword, to cut open your spiritual experience to share with others.
Your backstory is truly inspirational... that the Lord's entry into your life turned you in the right direction (180 degrees) clearly saved you from your bad ways to become an 'instrument' in more ways then one! And such a talented family - what a blessing.
