Hm, too much work:) I am in lazy cat like mood, so I am keeping my eye on the preview button which helps me to upload pictures and refine the style. Thanks for the heads up:)

AAAAgggggggg now I will be frozen in a state of post, don't post. It takes me forever to figure out how to do things, due to brain damage and just plain stupidity. You have given a fine explanation of all this - but I will probably blunder first!

I never use advance options. I write in word and do all my editing in word, then copy and past into write and save from there. I used advanced options once and it totally messed up my post.

Thanks for sharing this information, Liz. Until a few months ago, I didn't even know there was this option. I always do my writing in word, including all editing I notice, and then copy and paste into FanStory. Recently, I've used it a few times when I've forgotten the necessary order of filling out all the boxes. I entered the body of the work before adding the picture. If I wanted to go back to do that, the body would be unsaved unless I switched to preview. It takes a while to figure it all out. lol

Great piece of information so clearly explained. I am going to save this for brushing up my knowledge every now and then. I have followed Liza Wharton's advice a couple of times after duly informing Tom about it. Thanks very much for your contribution. Cheers!

I hate it when that happens, once upon a time, many years ago, it was always set a #yes# so we didn't make that mistake. I wouldn't mind Tom doing that again. But, another thing I have to thank you for is repeating here what Lisa said. Now I know what to do if I do make an error. Before I just disabled it and then when I was ready to post, no one got the new message. Only the disabled one. I take it doing it this way takes care of that point too? Well done, Liz, this was an important post and I appreciate you writing it. I hope Tom does do something about it. Let's hope he reads your post. :)) Sandra xxx

I'm pretty sure that the system does NOT reinform fans that a post is reenabled. I've had to check back or message the person to let me know when it's ready.

That's a darned nuisance. And Tom is not not going to do anything any time soon, is he! Hmm.

I expect he'll do it on the twelfth of never.

Good information. I've been burned quite a few times with having it release before I was finished. It seem the preview mode wouldn't revert to no by itsself but sometime it does. Evil Eddy?

Evil Eddie is not the culprit--the system designer programmed the default to NO preview. If you don't change it to YES, it reverts to NO when you log out.

Good morning, Professor Liz... You always seem to be on top of everything with the knowledge of how to fix things on this site as well as what's okay and what is not. Great job!
Always, Carol

Excellent and useful information, summarised here. Yes, I agree that all work should be set to be Previewed before release. Makes sense. I also would like to see the option for all capitals in the title. Not to have the sense of shouting as in emails, but sometimes it is appropriate for the context of a poem of writing piece. Good article to keep for future reference regarding Disabling and then Standard Release.
