Breathtaking! Brilliant theme--writers live forever inside their works. My sentiments exactly. This is a fine enhancement to the Book of Bob--is this your second one?

Thanks so much for your review and kind words. No, this is the first one I've written for him. It was hard for me to do. judi

Hello Judi.

I have read several tributes to Bob that have been posted in the last week. I had very limited contact with him when I first joined Fanstory. He apparently had relationships with many people on here. Your free verse poem describing him is very well done.

Robert

Hi, Robert. Mastery had been on the site for 16 years. It's hard to know that many of the writers, actually. I like mysteries, so I was drawn to his Cleve series. He used to write a variety of things, but recently he'd limited himself to the Cleve books, probably because of health reasons. judi

I knew him. We just didn't chat much.

A brilliant and loving tribute for Robert. I am so saddened he has passed. How true, though, he will live on in our hearts and through his wonderful stories. My prayers to his wife and family!

Thanks for that. I'm so glad you thought I did Bob proud. I never personally met him, but he came across as a wonderful person, in addition to being such an accomplished writer. Hope you're speeding on your way to recovery. judi

I never met him either. I did read his work and was always entertained and impressed. Ralf had given me his address so I am pleased I was able to reach out and send him a card and a letter weeks before he passed. I prayed he would make it through his final health challenges. May he rest in peace.--Karenina

I actually met Bob in person at his families reunion years ago in upstate northern NY where his foster care saga originally began. I was doing some work up that way and it was one of the great moments to meet him and truly become friends. Back in 2012 he was penning his book, Falling Up the Stairs on fanstory when I first joined, and It was his encouraging words and reviews that lead me to complete my first novel...He left us other writers with a big hole to fill. Thanks!!!!! p.s. I knew something was wrong, because I haven't seen any of his writs lately.

Judi,

A beautiful, appropriate, and clever post for our friend. I love seeing all the different ways people have found to recognize and honor him. It's also cool to see how many things he was to so many people.

He will be missed, for sure. Thank you!

He was here for quite a while, in fact longer than I. I joined in December 2012, and quickly connected, my best friends back have all now left, but they inspired me, Bob was likewise among the first, his story of the abuse of a little boy in foster care was on of the most memorable and touching of all. Beautifully written free verse Judy, blessings Roy

This is a very thoughtfully written free verse poem expressing your appreciation for a writer who was with us a long time on FanStory. As you say writers tend to live on through the words they leave behind. I'm sure he would be thrilled to know what has been written by those who enjoyed his stories.

Thank you for this beautiful tribute, Judi! I'm so glad you got to know Bob well. I followed him a few years back and I loved his Falling Up the Stairs. I'm not a big fan of detective stories but he wrote those Cleve stories so very well. You're right that these writers don't die - they are still alive in their works/words.
