Very true. People aren't born monsters, they are created and sometimes not by their own hands. Bob, had a great way of adding real life wisdom into his work and making you see the complexities of people and life. He will be missed.

True, so true. That one story affected me so profoundly that it influenced everything I wrote from that point on. The gift of incorporating subtly into your writing adds so much weight to ones writing that it actually elevates the quality immensely.

HI Nolan, I know what your saying sweet guy...
the last I had heard...is he was going to have two toes cut off because of his diabetes...and the next thing I heard...he had passed away...I think many were shocked...
he will truly be so missed my sweet friend...I hate the thought of all the wonderful writers we have lost to death...but I like to think Nolan that we will see them in heaven at a FanStroy reunion...that would be amazing...
I love your kind story told...and I know Bob does to...God Bless...love Linda xxoo

You know, something I have noticed, most of the people who mourn Bob's passing are the same people who communicate regularly here on the site anyway. Are we a part of some secret society or what? It really seems that we all have many things in common. How wild is that?

We Are FanStory Family...and those are true words...many on here Nolan have traveled many miles to meet each other...and have become best friends...I remember a man and woman on here married...and at last heard...they were very happy...
we know more about each other than friends that we have known for many years...that aren't on here...yes we are a secret society...what we have in common...is we communicate with each other...more than people in the outside world...and that is what God wants us to do...yes that is wide sweet guy...love xxoo

You are absolutely correct. I think the secret is that it was easy to open up to someone you might never meet face to face. Therefore revealing deep secrets and feelings became easier.

This is a neat send up for Bob, nomi. His character development, dialogue, and plot lines were always most interesting and readable. He will be missed for certain.

Most def. I was already missing him while he was convalescing, little did I know or even suspect that he was living his last days. My heart hurts just to think about it.

-You wrote a very good
tribute for Mastery, nomi.
-I think he would be
very pleased.
-It would mean a lot to
him that you felt like a
member of his family because
his stories made such an impact.
-Thanks for sharing an example
that stood out in one of his stories.

Yes, Bob, Mastery, touched us all, as a person and as a talented writer. I know we will miss the mysteries of how Cleve Hawkins is going to solve another case. I have his family and friends in my prayers.

Likewise. Is it not amazing that so many people are united in whom we follow and revere.

Being new to FS I never had the chance to know Bob and read his work. Regardless of that, I still offer my condolences. The tribute that you've written is excellent as it tells something about Bob and his talents. I would like to read some of his stories. What was the name he used on FS?

His pen name was Mastery, and it was well deserved.

You are welcome. I am sure you would have enjoyed the experience.

This is a touching tribute to a fellow writer I never had the opportunity to get to know. But if he had penned that short story - then he is indeed a master at his craft and an empathetic person who wrote from his heart and from his own experiences. The story you related certainly makes you think about the nature of and the nurturing of a child. So sad. An eloquent voice has been stilled.

This is a very suitable tribute to an excellent writer who was also a great help to me when I switched over from poetry to prose on this site, His falling upstairs was a magnificent true story. I considered it his best work.

True, true. Bob was always willing to offer help, advice and encouragement. He will be missed I am sure, by all who knew and were fond of him.
