Hi Liz :)
So what is it about the spider plant that you detest so much?! I kinda like them!! Your cat must like it too - or else it's frightened of it LOL
Love how clear you make your feelings in this post - they're very black and white ;)
Best wishes, Debra

As far as I'm concerned, the so-called "spider plant" is a euphemism for mutant crabgrass=>CRABGRASS.

Haha, I thought your meant real crabgrass grewing in a pot in you kitchen--why? But if it is a spider plant, that's good. Put it on the porch--front or back--it will do great. Thanks for the fun post, Liz.
Thanks for sharing.
Respectfully, Jan

I think I would gift it to a person I hate. Fortunately, I hate nobody! Once it was fashionable to keep cactus at home. But my Mom was against it. She said it would bring bad luck home. Kind of dry up family fortunes. I don't know any superstition attached to this Crapgrass. You better check it out. On a serious note, I find your post interesting. Something new I have learnt! Cheers!

Our realtor gave us a houseplant when she sold us this house 36 years ago. My wife cared for it. It was dead before the bathroom was cleaned the first time.

In other words, it's a damn out-of-control weed that even animals won't piss on. LOL. I've felt like that a few times in my life. But they wouldn't even give me to someone they didn't like. Just sent me off to school and moved before I came home. Huh, so what to do with the weed, besides, feed, nourish, and keep wishing it was gone. Thanks for sharing.

I got a good chuckle our of this one. It sounds like something from the little shop of horrors. It seems your frequent house guest, unlike you, is a lover of all thing that grow.

I killed one. It can be done! Hell I killed a cactus, one is still surviving in the pot that was a Christmas gift two years ago. I do have some bamboo growing and I had an outdoor garden last year. So much work. My sprouts are coming along this year, waiting on Ohio to realize it's spring before I move them to the garden.

What a very thoughtful young man! Lol! Don't laugh, but I have a spider plant, and I don't mind it. If it can cope with our extreme summer heat and me forgetting to water it enough, then it will survive your black thumbs. How would it look in your bathroom where it can enjoy the steam from showers? You shouldn't forget it if it is in there! Enjoy. I will look forward to stories of either its thriving or its demise!

Hi...ah...spider plants actually clean the air, and can get rid of cooking orders and smoke...so don't be too hard on the poor creature:-)
And just a tip...the harder you try to kill it off...the longer it will stay, give it lots of care and it will leave...they are cat like that way...

Never fear... they are destructible. Might take a while but they meet their death. Ask me..My green thumbs only apply to my plants outdoors, I simply forget the ones inside... not intentionally, but watering occasionally is essential. I forget to drink it myself so needless to say, the plants are lower on the totem pole. Happy plant sitting. Carol
