Thank you for sharing your thoughts through your story. I really enjoyed reading it. I don't think there is anything more precious than the love of a pet.

Cidda looks gorgeous. And from what you write, her beauty isn't only skin deep. She has personality and a big heart. Thanks for sharing her story. Good luck in the contest.

Good luck in the contest. I've got a mix St. Benard and Retriever that he is the master and we are the pets. Good story.

Thanks for your review. I try to keep telling her I am the master, she will have none of that.

Hello Mystery Writer. That is a very nice story of family life with a new doggie. It is truly remarkable how little four legged creatures become treasured by the two legged creatures that "invite them in." Fine story. Good luck in the contest.

You did a great job with your contest entry, Mystery Author. I felt as though I knew a bit of CIDDA's personality after reading your words. The picture is super. You are right about how she immediately became numero uno in your family. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully, Jan

Lovely story of your chosen pet. A proper dog =- coming out of her crate, head held high. There are good dogs and not so good. WE're fortunate with our small havanese that he's a good traveler and small enough to be on laps (or sleep beside us).
Good story.

Dear Mystery Writer,

How precious. Like you, I could not IMAGINE leaving any of our pets (animal children) behind if we moved. NEVER! They do become an integral part of the family. People without them can never understand what this is like.

I do have a couple of notes for you - yours to consider or dismiss, as you prefer:
1.) A substantial change in her life came when we moved from Australia to (the) USA.

2.) and questions had been asked (regarding) what we were going to do with them,

3.) her sister covered in smelly unmentionable(s) whilst
--> this one is hit or miss. you can probably get away without it, but imo, it's a BIT more appropriate with.

Thanks so much. I think this is a super entry and I wish you the best of luck in the voting!

This is a charming story about your beloved pet. Is the dog in the picture actually Cidda? She sounds like a lovely animal. This piece is an excellent contest entry. Thanks for sharing.

This is a lovely post. You obviously hold much affection for Cidda {thumbs up}.

Here are a couple of points you might like to consider:

Whilst her brother was trying to impress us by doing bog laps on the pet shop floor -- Do you really mean "bog laps"? Or is this literary license at play with a metaphor? {Winks}

Cidda herself walked out, head held high, not a hair out of place and barking orders to her chauffer. -- Oh, I know this doggy attitude so well {smiles}. BTW, do you mean "caffer"? The usual spelling is "chauffeur".

Best of luck with this when the voting booth opens {smiles}.

Thanks for your review and your very valid points. Bog laps is actually an Aussie term; running madly around the room. It has since been edited.

This is an endearing and warm loving story of your precious dog and I was so glad that it ended well as I didn't want it to be a sad story. Glad she survived the journey to the US and you are happily settled! I admire you for not leaving her behind, others may not have been so dedicated, I enjoyed hearing about your beautiful Cidda, love Dolly x
