Sorry to hear you and your wife have such medical problems. I'm 73 and have been on oxygen 24/7 for eight years now.

You have great beds. I should check to see if Medicare pays for one of those, at least partially.

I have 13 doctors and a ton of ailments, the worst of which is a lung disease. I have trouble breathing when I lie down, so sleep is hard to get. I lean on three pillows to stay partially vertical, but an adjustable bed would be so much better.

Take care and keep moving. It makes a difference. :)

Thanks Phyllis sorry no rewards around atm. Good getting into your book. I am up to date now. As I get time I might trowel back through those old chapters. Did I share why I qualified for the adjustable bed? I will look again. Are you related to the other lady of similar last name?
reply by Phyllis Stewart on 16-Oct-2018
Not related to anyone here. Got the name from my Scottish husband, of course. :)

Gluten free and no sugars so meat and potatoes? Or do potatoes have sugar in them? I just recently learned that I think it's carrots or something has sugar in it. Weird. Sometimes when I go to the doctor and they list my meds I feel like I'm in my 60's or 70's. I don't even want to think about what mine will be like then. And I googled the bed cradle. Looks interesting.

remind me to share a full list of the meds sometime if interested. Thanks for coming by. Potatoes are ok. Years ago as a teen when Endocrinology was not what it is today the Practising hehe endo restricted me from potatoes for years. later found to not have been necessary. It is not the potatoes it is what you do with them.

Thank you for keeping us updated on you and your wife's condition. I agree, getting older is no fun. I struggle with it often. I will keep you both in my prayers.

Hi, Geoff. Your story sounds very similar to mine in a lot of ways. I am 78 however so I am allowed a few more pills I think. LOL I am a type 2 diabetic taking shots four times a day. Plus 2000 mg of Metformin. I also have sleep Apnea and am on a Bi-pap machine every night. I was on a c-pap dfor yearss then they said I was recording as many as 31 "incidents" per night and put me on the Bipap. I am still having these so-called incidents bur I don't think they can do mucch more for me, can they?

I don't even want to get into the pill regimine ai have, my friend.

Take care. p.s. My wife is 20 years younger than I am so her pill count is lower. Blessings, my aussie friend.

Thanks Bro. A great review. Yeah my current machine is on 20cm the top pressure but Doctor Lee already thinks I need more even before the Sleep test on Monday. Seems we have even more in common except you got the vintage on me. I failed the medical for National Service (similar to your Draft) but then the first Labor (Democrat read on your side) abolished Natiponal Service. I can't help thinking some National Service might be good for the younger generation even if just to learn a trade? LOrd Bless.

Hi Sankey,
I read Sasha's rambles all the time. I have read a few of yours, too. You did a good job discussing your health issues. Your pictures are supportive of your words. I do not know of a cradles bed. Take care. Jan

Hi, Janny the bottom legs of the cradle go under the mattress down near your feet and takes the pressure of covers etc off your legs etc. I was thinking it was Gout but it was the FIVE covers' pressure on my toes. Do you think I should explain that a bit better? Thanks for the lovely review. I am glad I met Sasha she is one of my favourite writers. I bought her Dandelions book as well. I reckon her stories on Nacho and Bosco and some of her other characters could make a Mini-Series or something.

Hullo, again I just changed the bit about my wife's Bed Cradle, thanks to you, to clarify the function and location etc. If you want to look again. No hurry.

I thought I took a lot of pills but recently the Doctor eliminated almost half of them. It is still a but if a chore to set up each days pills. I have small containers for morning, afternoon, and evening. The regular pill boxes don't work because many of my pills are quite large and don't fit into the boxes. I can relate to the getting older and ailments getting worse as well as getting the wrong medication causing some serious problems. Good to know you are on top of it and know what you should and should not be taking. Thanks for the update, I enjoyed it very much.

Thanks, mate. Always appreciate your support. The Med that was taken off was good for years but the ENT's parting suggestion as he retired, when I mentioned fluid in the ears was to cut it. I should have added at the pharmacy I forgot to tell them to cut that med and they overloaded me (on Safety Net so it was free) with more of them. We used some for Louise for URTI and gave the rest to the Gp to use with others he thinks it might help. Thanks again.

Wow! Though I'm 75 now, I only take blood pressure tablets Geooff, you sink me by a mile. Mum was taking quite a lot of medication. I'm surprised, I'll pray for you bro. Sorry about that, blessings, Roy

Thanks Bro as I said I thought I was on a bit but I have met folks on more. My Mum was a pin cushion, they said on a lot of stuff but I am not aware of all that was. Mainly me and m,y elder bro had probs the eldest bro might have been born during Mum having German Measles and he had a speech defect they corrected with Speech Pathology...he passed that on to his son and daughter too. My sister came through no problems, she was the eldest. Might write something on this later thanks for the idea.

Be comforted by the knowledge that my forty-one-year-old son has sleep apnea and must use a CPAP. Fortunately, I only take one prescription for my thyroid, but endless supplements for all my other conditions. You are absolutely right that the patient has to do a lot of "self-diagnosis" and monitoring. I use a Sleep Number Bed to adjust its support for my various back problems--I'm glad the Cradle helps you. I am gluten sensitive and removed it from my diet ten years ago. Yes, we have to check the sugar content of substitutes. Here's to being ever vigilant and free of additional ailments! -Joan
