I'm glad you were okay, and that you had such a wonderful husband there for you. That car looks pretty scary. Looks like it could have been a lot worse. Yes, there are some wonderful rescuers out there. I've met a few of them.

Hi Sally,
Wow! This is some story! I wish I had a six, but they fell out of my quiver very early in the week.
This really happened to you? I guess it did, as your entry in the True Story contest. I've been driving since I was 18, so 52 years, and I've never had an accident, except for the time I slid on black ice into the bumper of the poor unfortunate stopped in line at the intersection lights. I paid $200 cash, and kept clear of insurance companies. But it looks like your car was totaled. God must have protected you. And it sounds like the firemen were extra kind, too.
Your accident happened on December 8th, 2005, and I took my wife and youngest son (Luke) and his girlfriend at the time (Lori) to Orlando the following April, to Disney World. We stayed at Port Orleans.
It's a blessing you are still with us.
Good Luck in the contest! This story should be a contender.
Hugs,
Kimbob

Thank you so much for this true experience of unexpected circumstances that life can throw at any one if us at any time. You really took me with you to the scene of the accident. It is my experience that the best true stories are real life situations that can only be explained by the person who experienced them. Your story is your own and unique. Thank you!

Sally,
So sorry you went through this. I know you were afraid, but you were in good hands. Our town emergency staff are excellent too. I know, but that's another story.
Your dialogue is crisp and fast--paced; you really know how to tell a story. I felt your fear through your words, so I am giving you a 6 stars.
Good luck in the contest, Sally.
And blessings for your life always. Your beloved sounds like such a nice person.
It's always good to hear from you.

Being t-boned is no fun, for sure. It has happened to me twice - not wanting to go for the third time's a charm thing, for sure. I am so glad you are okay and that there were no kids in the back of that SUV. Good luck in the contest.

OMG Sally! What a traumatic experience! Don't people have brains? I am glad you are safe and well. Your husband did not waste time getting there.
Very well written with very good imagery. Good luck in the contest.

You tell your story so well, Sally. Your use of so much conversation makes the story even more engaging.
You have so many true stories to tell. But, it seems that whatever life throws you, you come out on top because of your faith.
You take care. No more of your life-threatening adventures, please.

Wow. Just loved the way you told it with just the right balance and touch, as I were on top of the car looking down too. This was a more than excellent short piece. I'm no debating whether I should bother entering the contest. LOL

Well, Sally, it looks like an angel was with you and kept you away from harm. I'm happy, for without the person that you are there would be a vacancy in my life. This is a good offering for the True Story Contest. Thank you for sharing a part of your life.
