The curse of Alzheimer's and the promise to always be there
The Curse & The Promise

If I look like a stranger
I will be there
If I should look like danger
I will still care
When you are near unto death
I will stand close by
When you have drawn your last breath
Part of me will die.

Author Notes
This short poem is about the curse of the Alzheimer disease and the promise of a mate being there with the sufferer until the end. This poem was inspired by my watching the movie The Notebook with my wife for about the fifth time.
